TNJet
There is a huge gap and drop off in talent now that we dont have that 37th pick to fall back on.25 then what like 57th? Most positions that we need will be raided by then of the best players at the positions. At 25 I say get the best player available,if its Meachem or Jarrett then pull the trigger.Blalock or Sears then so be it.If Carriker falls great but it looks slim, maybe its Patrick Willis that will be BAP? Agree?
CoachTsurfing
I'm pretty sure that what was going to happen all along. Tanny had mentioned doing just that a couple of weeks ago. I think we could do that for the entire draft process. We have needs, but not huge gaping holes in the line-up. My big thing is to remember that some positions are going to have natural drop offs. WR is 4 or 5 really good ones and after that not so hot. Same with CB's this year. D lineman and O lineman not so hot.
TNJet
also, with the signings of Jones,Clement,Coleman,Cotchery ect. makes it a little easier to do so.All of our pcks will be drained in talent now having them so low down the board we just should look for steals that are available,I am really thinking WR and LB now at 25,good depth there and the most sure things at the positions.Rice,Meachem or Jarrett would be great along with Posluzny,Willis or Timmons. leviot
If there are no good D-lineman left, we might as well go BAP or trade the pick.

This is very possible, although Tank Tyler shouild be there at 25.But I would take any of the WR's before Tyler.
Sperm Edwards
If we touch a WR in round 1, I will join 124 on that bridge. Why would we take a WR in round 1? Cotchery was just re-signed for big bucks and Coles was just renegotiated (read: given more guaranteed money) last year. Neither of them are cuttable (and why would we want to) for a couple of years. A WR would only come in for a random play here & there. In other words, he would not be used much for a couple of years. A first round pick (except maybe QB) you ideally expect to contribute significantly in his rookie season, not 3+ years from now.
jetsman1
I REALLY want to take Justin Blalock at #25.I think if we can beef up our offensive and defensive lines enough the rest will fall into place. Our secondary has been a problem, but I think it's more a matter of not enough pressure up front from the defensive line.If that is taken care of then the secondary is probably good enough to get the job done. Blalock would make our acquisition of Thomas Jones much more effective and give Pennington his play-action passing game back.I really believe you build good teams through the offensive and defensive lines, and ours are both about one player shy of being really good.Let's use our first two rounds to shore up the lines and the rest on best available player. That would be my preference. I also DO NOT want to see a receiver on the first day of the draft!!!!

This draft is deep at WR and there are some guys that I believe can come in and be the number 1 wr on this team. No matter how much you love Cotch and Coles, they aren't exactly Rice and Taylor. I think they have bigger needs that will mean greater value elsewhere, but depending on how this draft shakes out I think there may be a wr that is far and away the BAP at 25.
