AFJF
Personally I've said for years that I'd LOVE to see Mo add a quality change up to his arsenal and it looks like he's using one this spring. As if the guy isn't good enough already, just giving hitters something else to think about will make him that much better. If it doesn't work out, he can always just go back to throwing the single most effective pitch ever. Guys been getting it done for over a decade with one pitch...unreal. CHANGE FOR THE BETTER: Mariano Rivera threw consecutive changeups to reigning NL MVP Ryan Howard in the sixth inning, the first for a ball on an 0-2 count and the second for a swinging strike three that may have proven to Rivera that the new pitch could really be a weapon for him. "He was tickled, obviously," Torre said. Said Rivera: "That's what spring training is for. I'm trying to get confidence in it. I'm throwing it more. I feel confident in it. If you don't practice, you're not going to have that."

AFJF
If it ain't broke don't fix it. If Mo throws in a changeup the BosSox bats will keep eating him up. Love it! Something tells me he won't be "experimenting" with the change in a big spot. He'll break it out a few times in less pressing situations and if it works he'll stick with it. The guy isn't a friggin idiot.

Yea, because they will be looking for a changeup from a guy that throws nothing but heat. Those super smart Sox players.
Garb
Hasn't Schilling added a new change-up to his aresenault? I beleive the new pitch made it's debut a couple of weeks ago. He's been working on it for years. Gee, Curt, you think the novelty will be as well-received as the gyroball?

madmike1
The fact that this player has to pitch as a lame duck is a complete joke.

GimmeShelter
Mo will work on the changeup this spring, tweak it during the off-season and have it game ready as the RedSox closer in 2008.
