Never been to Raleigh. Spent a week in Greensboro, once. You could not pay me enough to live there.

Greensboro is ok, much less to do than in raleigh...

when were you here,, the whole area has changed dramatically in last 10-15 years,,

but i bet you would like raleigh

used to go to pinehurst quite a bit when friends lived there. the local golf courses around that area are the best. anyone here ever played the pit?

talk about a tough shotmakers course. other than a course in masenhutten wv where the course was literally carved in the side of the mountain, the pit is one of the toughest tracks i've played

Tell me about Charlotte and burbs. My wife just came back from visiting her cousin in Kannapolis a few days ago and really took a liking to it. I've never spent much time down there, but I'm getting sick of metro NY. I've had no success convincing my wife to move to upstate NY or to New England, so at this point, if she's interested in anything outside of metro NY, I'll listen. I don't know enough about the Southeast to form an opinion yet (my client-base is primarily in the northeast), so any help would be appreciated.

shawn and i think bleedingreennc are charlotte boys, maybe they can chime in, ,

heelz, beans, and i are raleigh..jgb was...

charlotte is nice i hear,, bigger than raleigh, ,is the financial center of south,,sports wise has the panthers and bobcats but not much college action..

raleigh is state capital and a college hib with UNC. NC State, Duke here, Pro wise we have NHLs Hurricanes and Triple A Durham Bulls. College sports dominate Raleigh scene. Employment guranteed in Raleigh...

Both places 3 hours form mountains and about 2 hours from Beach.

Lake sabound in both places if yo uare into boating.

Schools are fine in the Metro areas and adjoining burbs,,, ,just dont wander too far away from city's burbs. Farm area then and all that entails. Nice for a country drive but you wiuldnt want to aise a family there unless yiu want your kid to take over thefamily farm or work at Chicken processing plant. ;)
