Josh McCown

I see the Jets signed Marques which to me makes less to little sense but if a guy like McCown gets cut would anyone here want to take a bite with him? I am all for seeing what Clemens has but I want to put a ton of pressure on him to move up the learning curve. McCown is very mobile with a big arm, I am sure Schotty could do a ton with him.

YES !!! I was surprized he signed with Detroit last year, right after they signed Kitna. Are you hearing that he might get cut or are you just hoping?

hey I thought kitna was pretty good last year. I wanted the jets to go after him. He was the beginning of the bengals turn around the year before palmer took over.

Kitna is a stop-gap guy. He's a nice back-up QB but any team that has him as their quarterback of the future has serious front office deficiencies.

I think this is one of our biggest philosophical differences. You are concerned with "quarterback of the future" or "franchise quarterback." I don't give a ****. Win as many games as you can and in the offseason try to get the guy that will win the most games the following season. If it's Kitna or 5'9" Doug Flutie, so be it.

I agree qb is a position where it's really nice to have a guy that's been in the offense more than one year, but I don't mind having a stop gap guy. If he wins. It's also a spot where you have to be careful developing your young talent, but it's a fine line.

McCown would've been 10 million times better than the crap they signed.

I agrre that McCown is better than Tuiassasopo, but I don't see this as abig issue to begin with. I think that signing was just a vote-of-confidence in Clemens. If the Jets actually come to the point where we have to play Toiassosopo, then that's pretty much a repeat of the 2005 season, and tui will help us get a better draft pick...

Ouch! Let's hope it doesn't come to that. :bag:

Good point. If Chad gets hurt and Clemens isn't what people think he is at least we'll be great at tanking games for a draft pick.

Ah, the good ole Trent Dilfer Argument. Yeah, a stop gap QB is great if you have a dominant defense and running game. Do the Lions have either? No. Do the Jets have either? No.

If Tui starts more than one game next year we'll be picking in the top 5. That's a lock.
