Matt39
What in gods name happened to it? Scrubs like Julio Lugo and Coco Crisp arent exactly scarring people. Other than Ortiz and Manny and maybe Youkilis, these guys really dont strike fear into opposing teams like they did 2-3 years ago. Nixon aint even around anymore. But they do have all world Wily Mo Pena.

But they do have all world Wily Mo Pena. Yep and Detroit had names like Granderson, Polanco, Thames, Monroe and Inge. Drew is probably better than Nixon and the same injury risk. They need guys like Varitek and Crisp to return to pre 2006 form though to make the play-offs. Once there it's all about pitching and defense. Gainzo
Aside from Manny Ortiz and Nancy Drew, their lineup is pretty awful... The Sox have scored 58 runs in 11 games and given up 30. The Yanks have scored 64 runs in 11 games and given up 52. As long as the Sox starters can keep the opposing line-up in check they will be fine. Thor99
The bats are waking up. Lugo is hitting .333 as the leadoff hitter, and Ortiz is back on track. JD Drew is outperforming my expectations thus far. Once Manny wakes up, all will be well. Luckily, the starters have been fantastic, and Brendan Donnelly is solidifying the bullpen. TaborJet
Derek Jeter 6 errors in 11 games! Well, at least he didn't have any yesterday. Some look-a-like wearing #42 muffed a grounder, though. The guy looks ****y and in my opinion, is overrated and would never be as successful on any other team.

It should be a fun series this weekend. The Sox get to put together a full series of games up in Toronto and then head back to Fenway for the 1st showdown with the Yankees. From what I've heard this crap weather should be out of here by Friday. It will be interesting to see the pitching match ups for the weekend. Will the Yankees get in their series against the Tribe? 124
Jeter has played like **** in the field, Wang has been out since Spring Training, Pavano has made his first few starts since 2005 and Mussina recently has gotten hurt. Need I explain more on why we've letten up 52 runs thus far?

The Rays, O's, Twins and A's are not exactly offensive powerhouses.

Need I explain more on why we've letten up 52 runs thus far? Yes, but you have starting pitching depth. Just ask Madmike. Even accounting for your AL worst fielding percentage, you have given up 43 runs.
