nj meadowlands
Granted it's against the worst lineup in the league Granted Zach Greinke is ****ting on the Sox putrid lineup Granted the Royals got screwed on a bad call The guy still looks really good. His breaking stuff is good and he's still hitting 93-94 in the 7th. 10 Ks in his debut.
Matt39
Not surprised, he's definitely the real deal. The Sox lineup looks like the Nats' though. Its just horrendous. Ortiz has 3 k's. Maybe he "dried out" during the offseason...catch my drift.

Gainzo
Where is GJ&H? Final Stats for Dice-K 7IP - 6H - 1R - 1ER - 1BB - 10K's - ERA 1.29 He pitched his way out of a couple of jams as well. Good 1st outing.

Gainzo
Matuszaka was very good. We can't possibly let GJ&H know that. When do you think he will re-appear? After Dice-K has a bad start (which will happen) or after the Yanks beat the Sox (which will also happen)? GJ&H is a front-runner. Plain and simple. AFJF
For the record....I predicted a VERY GOOD first outing for Dice-K...I wasn't surprised at all...I actually expected better vs. KC but regardless..a fine debut.
crackbackblock
Dice-K has very good stuff. But let's see what happens after he has been around the league once or twice. But he did look pretty nasty today.

faba
One start does not make a season and factor in kansas City as not the most powerful lineup. I think he will do pretty good on the whole for Bosox-he will put up better stats than Schilling is my prediction.

Gainzo
Kills you to type this right? madmike has been an advocate for Dice-K. You, me, madmike and everyone else need to gang-up on GJ&H if ever shows up. One start doesn't mean crap, but 10K's is 10K's.

I guess the pages and pages i spend bashing the yankee FO don't mean i'm objective enough for you. Someone who wouldn't know the word objective if you tripped over it. You're just as much a yankee hating boston homer as JBF. Thats right you're the same genius that tells me Beckett is a great pitcher based on the 2 games in the playoffs FOUR YEARS AGO (not his awful year last year or his mediocre career stats...) or that the yankees have no pitching after wang... But thats not being a delusional homer AT ALL.

Ypu said he had one pitch. I showed you scouting reports from scources far more credible then you that said he had 4. You said he has reached his ceiling. A guy makes a jump from the inferior league, from paradise to a pressure cooker and overcomes a history of stints on the DL to post a decent season has reached his celing. Plus, he is all of 26. Yet, some guy that has never pitched int he minors and was torched this Spring is the next big thing. Ok...homer.

If you are ignorant enough to judge Hughes on 4IP it's really not worth talking baseball with you. Why don't you read some CURRENT scouting reports on hughes because you seem to read so much into them. As far as Beckett, the reports you're reading are years old and BEFORE he pitched a season while showing an inability to get anything over besides his straight fastball. (which is the reason he gave up almost 40 homers) Does he deserve a medal for staying off the DL? he pitched like crap. Considering what you gave up for him he's a GIANT BUST. You have practically annointed him a Hall of Famer. Funny though. After he got bombed in the Spring you took his picture down.
