AFJF
A-Rod goes yard again. It's nice and all..and the guy could go and hit 70 HRs this year but most Yankee fans won't care until he does it in Ocotober. Fair or not...that's just the way it is. The only thing some of us Yankee fans, including me, care about are the rings. He could hit 100 HR's, how many does hit against Boston and in the postseason? Bob
I'd like to see production in the post-season, too, but A-Rod gets plenty of credit from me if he can carry the team through a couple of rough patches, like Jeter did last year.
GimmeShelter
Even if he has a huge October some of the ususal suspects will find a way to not acknowledge it. Spoiled fans have already labeled him for good off of two bad post seasons while forgetting that if not for ARod's 04 post season the Yanks would currently be riding 3 straight division series dismissals. MasonJet
It's funny that people single out A-Rod for his performance in the playoffs the last 2 years while conveniently forgetting that the rest of the Yankees lineup has sucked as well. Oh well some people can just never be pleased. I'm really happy to see him doing so great. And what's that, Melky Cabrera has an RBI single? I guess he's not that done after 20 at-bats. madmike1
The yankees are just too fancy to play in the snow... No shock that they come around once they get inside.
Matt39
On another note, Sheffield is sucking in Detroit.
madmike1
On another note, Sheffield is sucking in Detroit. That was the good trade in the pair of salary dumps the yankees made this past offseason. Whelan and Clagget are ROLLING and Sanchez will be back soon.
nj meadowlands
Pettitte has looked DAMN good. Working both sides of the plate, throwing his curve and cutter for consistent strikes. And yeah the Sheff trade was good, but we won't see how good until next year when Humberto Sanchez comes up throwing that queso

AFJF
Wow talk about the friggin typo police... LOL...I was so hoping you would claim a type-o. It's the wrong damn word. Immediate Intimidate In all seriousness I did think there was a possibility that intimidate impact was some type of measurable used in sabermetrics that took in to account a pitchers velocity x facial hair + height + weight. I was just making sure.

Sharrow
Actually, the yankees could use a little facial hair. They look like a bunch of girls out there. I've said this before, is it a sport or a beauty pagent? How about some playoff beards, like in hockey?
Thor99
I didn't get to see the game, but it looks like Andy had himself one heck of a game.
JetNation
Alex Rodriguez homered in his fourth straight game to back a solid performance from Andy Pettitte in New York's 10-1 victory over the Minnesota Twins on Tuesday night. More...

AFJF
I didn't get to see the game, but it looks like Andy had himself one heck of a game. He looked real good and the few times he got in to a jam he worked out of it well. At one point Minnesota had a leadoff man on second, moved to third with one out and Andy K'd the next two hitters. If I had to guess I'd say his pitch count was right around 100. I'm not sure if Torre is going to continue pulling him when he gets to that point but he definitely could have kept going. The big thing to me is that these last two outings from Pavano and Petitte came on the road against a very good hitting team. Twins are a good measuring stick. I'd be happy but not all that impressed if these games were against a team like the Royals.
Maxman
I didn't get to see the game, but it looks like Andy had himself one heck of a game. He looked really good. He threw strikes and was in command the whole time. That was a good win for them (and Andy personally).
