This rainout is a killer, Pelfrey pitching opening game in braves series now. Automatic loss Pelfrey sucks. Oh well NFL draft soon for us Met fans.

We're 1 game out. In April. Don't throw in the towel just yet. And with the rainouts, I bet they skip Pelfrey's start and put Glavine on the hill for Game 1.

Nah i'm actually plesently suprised the team is 7-4. I couldn't be happier with that but i'm sticking to my predicion Braves are a juggernaut and the Mets have alot of deadweight on the team guys that belong in the minors at best.

Who? Pelfrey arguably but he's in the rotation due to Pedro being hurt.

If Mets stay on this pace till Pedro returns and trade deadline they will be in the pennant race.

ive lost faith in pedro. hes a chandelier, and the mets shouldnt have to deal with his mental problems(depression, putting white tape on his fingers and making odd hand motions to the field during a game(no way hes coaching) and other assorted oddities). pedro filled his purpose, players actually wanted to go to the mets and people would pay attention to him as long as the mets have him. oh yeah, screw pelfrey and package milledge and the rotation will be fine.

Any team with a Wright, Reyes, Beltran and Delgado in the middle of the lineup is a contender. Add in Alou and LaDuca, and your offense is fine.

The pitching has some age, some inconsistencies, and potentially an overused pen. But who really has great pitching in the NL these days? Mets will be fine.

Looking at the weather along the East Coast so far in April, with the exception cold in week 1, and the excessive rain in week 2, into week 3, Baseball needs to start really thinking about the schedule for April. And do something about it.

Indians have to play home games in a foreign, neutral site. Yankees play the fist week in Football weather, Etc. Etc. Why did the Yankees play Tampa, in NY? Could they not have played in Tampa, where it was 40 degrees warmer?

Why can't all West Coast and Southern teams have home games for 2 weeks to start the season. Sure, it is tough for the teams in the NorthEast and Central, like the Tigers, etc. But it almost has to be done. Just look at all the Day-Night DH that are piling up.

There are complications to that. It is a very difficult aspect to have both the Mets and Yanks away, during common extended periods, because that means that both teams have to be home, together, for common extended periods. Neither likes that, particularly the Mets.

Some of teh smaller markets, that count on the hype of opening day, a new season, a new beginning, etc., etc., can not afford to be buried in the standings already, before they make their first home game. They may crush their attendance for the year.

Arguable points, I understand. But some that baseball does not like to play with.

They could push openers back a week, or so and schedule more natural double headers. Of course, the teams don't like that either.

And, although I have never heard this officially, I think clubs like the specter of having delayed starts of games and even some cancellations. For those games that are not outright cancelled b efore the gates open (few of those in comparison), they get to charge parking and concessions, etc.

Standings show Team deadweight in 1st place and the juggernauts in 2nd.;)

Should be a good w/end series. Good luck to you and your Braves.
