Chase Wright

Makes his major league debut tonight. How do you think he will fare against the Tribe?

6 innings, 3 ER, 5 K, 3 BB is my line.

I don't see that many K's. I see a lot of live balls tonight, and the only way Wright gets the W is if the Yank's D doesn't make any errors.

I am a bit waivering here. Part of me wants to say he will be above adequate. Sort of like a 7 inning, 6 hits, 2 walks, 3 runs. However, I also have a slight feeling of dread, that this game may be a slugfest, where Wright does not survive the 5th.

Anyone making their debut in a Yankee uniform, in the Bronx, has to have a serious case of teh jitters. This is a negative for Chase.

I hope for more like the former though. But I do like this kids makeup and stuff.

Wright earned this chance with his performance and he'll probably pitch well.

For everyone who was so happy with what the yankee got for Randy Johnson why don't you take a look at the guy the yankees deliberatly passed on for money reasons in the deal... Cashman completely dropped the ball in the offseason in more then one way.

If they did not do the deal for cash reasons, it means they did not drop the ball. It means they have a budget.

Welcome to how 80% of baseball builds their teams.

Earned his chance? He's way too old for AA. A 24 year old in AA is not a prospect and he should be expected to dominate players who are younger than he is. At least that's what this really smart baseball guru told me about the guys the Yankees got for Randy Johnson. 24 year old in AA equals non-prospect pitching out of his league.

Even if they have a budget they were penny wise, dollar foolish in that trade.

As always, it is easier to manage someone elses money. Excuse the Yankees if they had a budget.
They can piss money down the toilet with Mientgarbagewicz and Cairo but they won't pay the extra 2 or so million to get a good prospect instead of crap? Than they went around to media outlets telling everyone how smart they were for getting the crap they overrated. Nice job cash.

Ha Ha. back to this BS argument again. I didn't realize that because i'm not the GM i have no right to an opinion or that everything every major league GM does is the 100% right move.

This is just another example of you arguing with me for the sake of being an ass.

No, moreso you not allowing others to deal in reality.

YOU said the Yankees refused Owings, because of money. Therein, lies the budget comment.

NO, you can't accept that a team has to have a budget, or at least this incarnate of teh Yankees team.

This is not fantasy baseball, nor non-reality baseball.

I hate to break the news to you.

As far a s Owings, I watched the majority of his NAts start, and I was not overly impressed that this is a can't miss kid. He hand-cuffed the Nats, on a cold night, which is no great feat. he mixed pitches well, but is far from a cant-miss prospect from what I gleaned off one start.

Have you watched him pitch?

Only way the Yankees have a budget is if they are selling the team.

Well seeing as i looked at the site and dont see his name either...

he's baiting you, dont take it!

I don't think they think Chase is a future prospect, that is why they did not list him on the main page.

You have to find him though special passages. Recite OPS, RSPB, and that kind of stuff.

Wright may be a guy who the light bulb went on for a little later than your usual prospect.

His spring and AA games to date have been lights out.

After the spring training game against the Twins Rondell White when asked about Karstens wanted to discuss Wright and said he could make any rotation.

I think he has a good night.
