I don't see that many K's. I see a lot of live balls tonight, and the only way Wright gets the W is if the Yank's D doesn't make any errors. shawn306
The way the Yanks are playing right now it could be a rough night. If he gives the Yanks 5 innings tonight I would be happy, but the rest of the team has to chip in and help.
mbn007
I am a bit waivering here. Part of me wants to say he will be above adequate. Sort of like a 7 inning, 6 hits, 2 walks, 3 runs. However, I also have a slight feeling of dread, that this game may be a slugfest, where Wright does not survive the 5th. Anyone making their debut in a Yankee uniform, in the Bronx, has to have a serious case of teh jitters. This is a negative for Chase. I hope for more like the former though. But I do like this kids makeup and stuff.

madmike1
Wright earned this chance with his performance and he'll probably pitch well. For everyone who was so happy with what the yankee got for Randy Johnson why don't you take a look at the guy the yankees deliberatly passed on for money reasons in the deal... Cashman completely dropped the ball in the offseason in more then one way. http://scores.espn.go.com/mlb/players/profile?playerId=28660

A 24 year old in AA is not a prospect and he should be expected to dominate players who are younger than he is. At least that's what this really smart baseball guru told me about the guys the Yankees got for Randy Johnson. 24 year old in AA equals non-prospect pitching out of his league. faba
The main reason he is up there is they wanted someone on the 40 man roster to pitch- it is up to him to show that he can compete-Double A is not the same as the majors I think

Therein, lies the budget comment. NO, you can't accept that a team has to have a budget, or at least this incarnate of teh Yankees team. This is not fantasy baseball, nor non-reality baseball. I hate to break the news to you. As far a s Owings, I watched the majority of his NAts start, and I was not overly impressed that this is a can't miss kid. He hand-cuffed the Nats, on a cold night, which is no great feat. he mixed pitches well, but is far from a cant-miss prospect from what I gleaned off one start. Have you watched him pitch? No PFSIKH, they are in the process of building a new stadium, and there are new monies to be allocated for that project. Either that, or they had a momentary flash of conscience. GimmeShelter
Wright may be a guy who the light bulb went on for a little later than your usual prospect. His spring and AA games to date have been lights out. After the spring training game against the Twins Rondell White when asked about Karstens wanted to discuss Wright and said he could make any rotation. I think he has a good night.
