Hopefully Pap can shut the door here in the 9th so Wake can get a win.

Arsis
Horrible, just horrible. I hope you're not gonna make a thread for every time a red sock does well. I'm not gonna be able to tolerate all 12 of these threads all season.

What have the Yankees won since A-Rod showed up? On another note, the Yanks are poised to go over .500 tonight. Congrats.

madmike1
The bluejays without Johnson and Glaus are hardly a good offensive team. Wakefield is pitching over his head and will come down to earth sooner rather than later.

You can picture me looking realistically at Wakefield's stats and knowing he will pitch worse as the season goes on.

Gainzo
it's not bold to repeat the same thing you've been saying all along, Please pull a quote from me saying Wakefield would have a sub 2.00 ERA. I said the Sox starters would be just fine (barring my Schilling rant on opening day). Schilling, Beckett, Dice-K & Wake have all pitched well. Do you know the pitching matchups for the weekend Sox/Yanks series?
Bob
They said on the Yanks broadcast that Chase Wright would go against Dice-K on Sunday.
Gainzo
They said on the Yanks broadcast that Chase Wright would go against Dice-K on Sunday. Cool. I'm heading down to Baltimore tomorrow and the only game I can see on TV is the ESPN game on Sunday Night. How about Friday and Saturday? Schilling and Beckett against ?? Bob
Pettitte vs. Schilling. Jeff Karstens vs. Beckett.

madmike1
Pettitte will go, probably on Saturday. I honestly don't know who the fifth starter is, anymore. Pettitte friday Karstens saturday.
CrazyCarl40
Wakefield is pitching really well and in cold weather, which bodes well because once the humidity and warm weather picks up, so will the movement on his knuckler. He is prone to have hot streaks, and the more innings he eats, the better.
Arsis
If we started Danny Almonte against the redsox we would still win.

Bob
Yeah Torre did a nice job of setting up his rotation for this series. I'm not thrilled about it, but it's not like he has a lot of healthy arms to work with.
Jet/BosoxFan
Horrible? The yankees have had 8 pretty good starts in a row now and the bullpen is virtually unhitable. I almost didnt see this magnificent thread! Normally, I would laugh off anyone who thinks they can rival JonE in the jinx department. But am I to understand that madmike called miniscule ERA-having Timmy Wakefield "garbage" and then went on to call the Yankee bullpen, Chernobyl of the baseball world as "unhittable"? Let's not sleep on madmike's jinxing powers. If JonE still refuses to use his powers for good and tell us what lottery numbers NOT to pick and what colors NOT to play in Roulette... maybe you'll do in a pinch madmike. I'll let you know the next time I go to Vegas. We're truly blessed to have 2 jinxed b@stards among us...JonE still takes the cake though. He's been doing it for years. Jet/BosoxFan
Yeah Torre did a nice job of setting up his rotation for this series. did I really see andy pettite pitch in relief in an April game and the late great Mariano Rivera appear in the 8th inning?
