And suddenly, all is right with the world

Sanjaya was voted off American Idol. He sang as his last song, "Let's give them something to talk about, and not just hair." That's dead serious. Good riddance I say, he was becoming a joke and knew it. Gotta give the kid props for going out there week after week. He gets to go out on tour and who knows, maybe someone will throw him a record deal.

On a night in NY where there were 3 great hockey games and 2 decent baseball games, I don't know how anyone could waste their time watching "Idol".

Probably because baseball and hockey are even less entertaining? Just a thought.

I was going to ask why you felt just one person on the show was a joke. Then I remembered you'd been posting irregularly thr last few weeks.

Got over the hunger strike ok?

I was also watching Entourage, mixed with Devils/ Lightning, and Idol. Also, I'm a Red Sox fan in NY, so I have to settle for gamecast and I'm a Penguins fan who just likes good hockey.

Assuming you can both walk and breathe there really is no excuse to watch that show ever.

American Idol? Is that still on the air?

Last night 7 of the 9 New York pro teams played. Yanks, Mets, Rangers, Islanders, Devils, Knicks, and Nets.

No excuse for watching American Idol!

sometimes even the manliest of men find regular season hockey to be pretty boring and those thugs in shorts you call basketball games well.................

Awright, Carl. We'll accept that. The Pens are playing every other night, so if your NHL team wasn't playing, you're forgiven for peeking. But don't get caught doing that again!

If you are a Sawx fan, why don't you get the MLB package?

Honestly, I like the kid. I actually feel kind of bad for him. I have a feeling the next week or so is going to be a tough thing...he has been shielded, from what I understand, from the press - now he has to face them. Literally every interview I did over the first 2 weeks of being off the show asked me why the crap Sanjaya was still there...some in nicer ways than others. But it was obvious from everyone's interviews the vitriol that people feel for the kid. Hopefully the people will keep it nice and professional, but I have a feeling more than a few interviews could turn bad for him.

So, I ask you, the best fans in the world: if you are the praying type, say a short one for Sanjaya and the interviewers who will interview him. Pray that they will be kind and respectful. He's just a kid who made it further on American Idol than some people expected...he doesn't deserve the hatred he's gotten from pretty much the entire world. Even if you don't pray, if you're kind, you can still shoot one off for Sanjaya.

Peace and love.

Idol makes my teeth hurt. What a godawful banal waste of time. I hear people say Sanjaya was a joke and making Idol look bad? Isn't that an oxymoron? Or maybe it is just morons who watch it.

In a day of DVR, on demand and the internet, there simply is no reason to settle for sh!te tv.
