TaborJet
...was today. Yanks down, 6-2. Bottom of the ninth. 2 out. The rally begins. Phelps hits a solo homer. 6-3 Indians. Posada singles. Damon walks. Jeter singles. Indians, 6-4. Abreu singles. Indians, 6-5. Then Arod launches an A-bomb on a 1-0 pitch over the center field wall. Yankees win, 8-5, on Arod's 3-run walk-off homer. The fans that were left went nuts. I mean, it was unthinkable. Yanks down by 4 runs going into the ninth with the bottom of the order coming up? We could be watching history with Arod. I think this is why he was booed here for so long. It's because his potential was never reached in the past 3 seasons with the Yankees. Well today, and for the first 3 weeks this season, he has exceeded his potential. It is something special to witness baseball greatness in person. It was 20 - 0 and they only hit 9 home runs. Plus the Yankees OPS that day sucked so it really wasn't a victory at all if you think about it. hahaha! TaborJet
Better than Jets-Dolphins monday night? That's a great question. I wasn't at the Monday Night Miracle, but Max was. I asked him that same question on the way home earlier, and he basically said it's apples/oranges. Then Max got hungry from mentioning said apples/oranges. The Gun Of Bavaria
Tabor that's the type of game you'll always remember. Bugg
Top 3 I've seen in person- 2003 Game 7, ALCS. 1996 Game 6, World Series Bone to Mets fans-1986 Game 3, NLCS-Lenny Dykstra's Walk Off HR, capping a huge Mets comeback.

I still remember being at the old Tiger Stadium and watching Lou Whitaker hit a walk off grand slam in the bottom of the 9th to win it. Was that a game against the Yankees GOB? I remember Lou hitting a grand slam in the 9th vs. the Yanks with Cecilio Guante on the mound. I remember it so well because at 11 years old I can honestly say that's the first time as a sports fan that my heart was ripped out of my chest watching a game. I'm thinking it was Guante or Charles Hudson but I'd put my money on it being Guante (who I believe was later in the Tigers organization and almost killed in a car accidnet on the way to a game). I think Trammell got on base right before that by dropping the bat head down on pitch on the outside corner that he looped over Mike Pags' head in to LF. I should clarify. Greatest game that I have seen in person. Granted, there are plenty of great games, too many to list. I have seen other comebacks, namely the Yanks/Padres in '04 where the Yanks were down 2-0 in the ninth, hit back-to-back homers to tie it, then were down by 4 in the 13th and came back again to win it. But this one takes the cake. When Arod came up, you just knew something special was going to happen.
mbn007
Better than Jets-Dolphins monday night? Actually, Obrein vs Marino in 1985 was the best. Last team to have the ball was the winner, and the Jets got the ball to start OT. But in Baseball, this was as good as it gets. 2 outs, bottom of the 9th and the immortal Josh Phelps at bat. toon88
yesterdays Yankee GAME sucked...it was boring and poorly played. The bottom of the 9th however was one of the best I've ever seen. I was watching at home, and with 2 outs, nobody on base, Phelps hits the HR to make it 6-3. Michael Gay says, "and it's 6-3 Indians, the Yankees aren't dead yet" I yell at the TV, " oh F U you friggin homer. game is over. big deal, Josh Phelps hit a meaningless HR to make it 6-3. Shut up you dick" then the flood gates open and I gotta hear Michael Gay (who says he is NOT a yankee fan) go nuts. I couldn't believe what I was watching. Amazing comeback, and amazing bottom of the 9th inning...but a boring ass game for 8 1/2 innings.

How hilarious is it that a guy starts a thread saying "this was the greatest game I've ever been to" and people are actually debating it with him? I don't care if it was a friggin intra squad game during the first week of spring training..if somebody says it's the best game they have ever been to...then that's it. It's not really a debatable topic IMO...LOL
