Mets Just Raking Now

Recommended Posts

Who was moved that we should have grabbed? David Wells? Clemens who has been awful?.....Most feel the problem is age of our staff......the pen?....Gagne, Linebrink?....Who? It's easy to try and ID a goat because it makes us feel better as fans but unless you have actual names that would have been the solution, I don't think you can blame Omar.

Really? There's another Clemens that was moved and this one has been awful? What a weird coincidence.

Shall I bump all the "Yankes Suck" threads from Mets and Sox fans?

No, stay classy. let them keep blaming the Yankee fans for their choke job, it's humorous.

My point was should we have outbid the Yanks for his mediocre services.....but you knew that.

Hate to break it to you, but the best move by ANY MLB team this year has been the Yanks acquisition of the Rocket

The Yanks resurgence coincided with Roger coming back home to the Yanks

Even if they would have done it without him it is nice to have Kennedy, Hughes, Jaba, etc to spend some time around Roger. To see that dedication will certainly help them in the long term. Andy P definitely benefitted from it back in the day.

As usual, JonE is incorrect.

The Yankees resurgence coincided with the team (besides A-Rod) beginning to hit.

In fact, IIRC, Rocket joined the team when they were approximately 9 games out. It wasn't until a couple of weeks later that they fell to 14 1/2 back.

6-6 4.18. Best move ever, homer.

A 4.18 era in the AL is not that bad, and Rocket brought an intensity to this team that it was missing. It was a very good move that you cant second guess at all.

The best move was made by Blowston. They just played the way we all expected them to, and the Yankees got back to their potential. This all made that 14 game lead go away . No objective beanfart fan can possibly tell me that they are feeling confident about their team going into the playoffs.

I'm not saying it was a bad move, just saying that it wasn't the best move of the year, as your front-running brother would have you believe.

6-6 for a prorated $28 million. Hey, if you got it, why not?

Your little nicknames for players and fans are so cute. You must be the product of a quality education.

To me, most of the players aren't worth what they are making.

That said, he was cheaper than Roger, even if you include the posting fee. He got 16 wins as a rookie, adjusting to a new culture, and obviously better lineups.
