gsnts725
Not many have mentioned him to be picked by the Jets at Number 25. According to NFL Draftcountdown.com he is the #2 CB in this draft. Since we're in desperate need of a CB, why not pick this guy? I heard Kiper saying he would be available in the late round portion of the 1st. here's his scouting report: Strengths: Has good size with long arms...Smooth with outstanding athleticism...Very good timed speed and quickness with a burst...He's exceptionally tough and physical in coverage...Able to run with most wideouts in man...Has fluid hips and can flip and turn...Extremely confident in his abilities...Great leaper...Strong...Has pretty good instincts...Uses his hands well...Breaks up a lot of passes...Has a lot of potential. Weaknesses: He might be a little too sure of himself at times...Ball skills are only average...Too aggressive and will get fooled...Still raw in terms of his technique...Does not do a great job supporting the run...Only an average tackler at best...He was not overly productive for most of his career...May be a workout warrior...A high bust factor? Iceman88
I'm pretty sure I remember reading the Jets FO loves Houston so if he falls to us I think he'd be the pick.

lawngnome o-line
taking CB is really scary because there are way too many misses than hits. i mean, who in recent memory with the exception of pac-man, nate clements or deangelo hall was a big impact CB drafted in the first rd? look on back on some of the past 5 or 6 years and you see some 1st rd CBs and u say, woof. thats why i'm not totally sold on a CB, but houston being younger and having more upside would be the better pick
CoachTsurfing
High bust factor says it all for me. Although he did shut down the top 3 projected receivers.

The Troll
If he's there, it's the definition of a no-brainer. However, according to most draft analysts, he will be long gone before 25. Hopefully, Kiper is correct for once.
Arsis
draft daddy has Houston going to NE at 24, we'd have to give Herm a few cases of extra spicy BBQ sauce to move from 25 to 23.

DaBrick Wall
Is this a report for Justin Miller? The JETS dont need another superman who cant play CB... they need a guy who has sound technique.... THat's EXACTLY who I thought of reading that scouting report...this guy seems like a hit-or-miss guy. Also, he wasn't a can't miss prospect in college, and likely shot up the draft boards with his combine and individual workouts. I'd like Ross over him; I just hope Revis is there, he would be a no-brainer at that spot.
PeterNorth09
I don't know why so many of you are so down on this guy. Not only is he the fastest corner in the draft but he's performed excellent against top competition.
gang_green03
Is this a report for Justin Miller? The JETS dont need another superman who cant play CB... they need a guy who has sound technique.... He's not Justin Miller. Miller was raw in coverage, Houston is great in man to man. He came out on top against the Top WR's in this draft (Mecheam, Jarrett, Bowe). He needs to work on his playmaking ability since he doesn't tend to get INT's and also needs to get better playing zone coverage, but he can lock down his man. He's the best press coverage corner in the draft. He'd be a great pick at 25.

JohnnyCans
Ill pass on Chris Houston...He put up a couple of big games and has great natural ability, but was not consistent enough in 2006 to warrant a first round selection from me. Give me Darelle Revis, Aaron Ross, or even Daymeion Hughes before Houston. Better yet, just give me Justin Blalock at 25.

When the Jets took Miller, I honestly believed they were going to have a shut down secondary for the next ten years between Miller and Strait. Is Strait even in the NFL anymore? I haven't given up on Miller yet, but he has to step it way up this season.
gsnts725
why do u guys like ross so much? give me a good reason why the jets should take ross. all i see is a guy who doesnt have much starting experience, is a good return man and has raw footwork and technique. doesnt that remind u of miller ? Plus he's 25. I do not like Ross as a pick, I'd much rather get a CB like Wright or Wilson in the second round.

Not only is he the fastest corner in the draft but he's performed excellent against top competition. Because he is fast and went to Arkansas. That means he is the next Ahmad Carroll. Also, because he is fast. That means he is Justin Miller. I guess people will only be happy if we draft a slow as molasses corner from some college that hasn't recently had a bust at the position.
