Agree with all the jones stuff. But Revis makes me think out pass defense is going to be a whole bunch better. Revis, Dyson and Rhodes could be as good as any such combination in the NFL.

Definately the addition of Thomas Jones and the drafting of David Harris and Darrelle Revis. All of these guys should make big differences on both sides of the ball.

RB's are a dime a dozen, i want to see Revis. We gave up a lot to grab him and i want to see if he's worth it. i think he will be though, seems like the real deal through interviews and what clips i've seen of him.

Since a player is not specified in this thread's question, I think SteveO hit the nail on the head. Pennington's play-action pass was absent last season, and with Thomas Jones here, we should see one of the best play fakes put to use again.

Whoa, hold on trigger. We don't know yet, but I respect the word could. However, if we are going on potential, I think Atlanta's secondary will be scary in a few years (Hall and Houston at CB)...look out!

I like the acquisition of TJ and the first two draft picks (especially Harris), but K. Coleman could be a nice difference maker as well. The word on this guy is that his motor does not stop running. That sort of fire could be a nice asset to a relatively quiet defense.

I has to be Jones. A big bruising running back who is a real threat is going to kill off the clock, move the chains and get the defense to back off our WRs.

Now it is up to the offensive line to step up and give Jones some holes to run through.

Lynch? come on, i can name 15 safties that are better than him. i could probably name 10 linebackers that would be better safeties than him.

I guess it would be Revis. Thomas Jones is the defintion of an average NFL starting running back. I would not be pumped up if we brought in Rueben Droughns either.

I am hoping that David Bowens will make an immediate impact as a rush linebacker. I think that if he can be as good a pass rusher standing up as he was with his hand down, he will make our entire defense better against the pass. We needed someone to help out Bryan Thomas and hopefully, we got it.

Jones will be exactly as advertized... middle of the pack runner. Nothing to write home about unless it is to write about what a big upgrade he is over last year's crop. No, Thomas Jones is very far from exciting. People who think that are probably the sdame kind who got excited when we got Johnny Johnson from the Cardinals back in the day.

Revis? Sure... But the way cornerback is played in the NFL we wont know for sure until a few years down the road. Even then I just can't bring myself to get all amped up over a corner.

Wadsworth. I am excited to see if he has anything. Anything at all.

Thomas Jones was one I liked a lot. He and Leon could and hopefully will form a very, very good 1-2 punch, the best in the AFC East.

Kenyon Coleman was another addition that I was really happy about because it sends Kimo into a reserve role and if Coleman can produce as a starter as he did as a part-time player in Dallas, it will turn out to be a very good signing.

Darrelle Revis was probably my most favorite addition though. We needed another starting calibear Cornerback more than anything IMO and we got an excellent one in Revis who can also be a Return Specialist. He and Dyson are going to form one damn good starting Cornerback tandem. New England / New York games are going to be fun when Brady is slinging it to Moss and Stallworth with Revis & Dyson defending.

I think Tjones will have an impact, but the run blocking was terrible last year. And, unless I've missed something, we havent done much this offseason to correct that problem. In fact, if the rumors that Kendall will be gone by training camp are true, we may have even gotten worse in that area. Thomas Jones is a good RB, but he'll still need guys to block for him. Anyway, I look forward to seeing how Mangini/Schottenheimer incorporate Jones into the offense, and how T. Jones will affect the play of Cotchery and Coles. I also look forward to the training camp battles on the defensive side of the ball. Especially if Barton and Barrett stick around, just about every position will be up for grabs.

I'm gonna go with Chansi Stuckey. No, I'm not joking either. The reason I am going with him is because he is the least obvious. He has some serious play-making ability and people should not be fooled by his combine numbers (which were done at less than 100%) or the fact that he was picked in the 7th round. This guy could be a real steal. He was playing in a run-balanced Offense at Clemson too, so in that his numbers were impressive the last couple of years. Also, his injury history is way overblown. Go back and look at the injuries he had and how long he was actually out with them. Time will tell for sure but I think this guy could have a huge impact in the slot.

Obviously Thomas Jones will probably make the biggest immediate impact. Revis and Harris were great picks no matter what they gave up in other picks to get them and they should both contribute big-time in year one. I'm interested to see what Kenyon Coleman can do as a starter.

Good call on Wadsworth! I almost forgot about him. He could be a very interesting pick up as a fill-in if he can recapture some of what he used to have.

I'm not so sure he will become a top 2 guy but even that the potential is there is a testament to how worth it it was for them to pluck him from the 7th round. I know the guy ran a 4.3 or 4.4 a while back, was projected as a first day, 3rd round pick, and then after his broken foot (which he came back from in 3 weeks which was probably not the wisest decision but shows the guy has heart and guts) he slipped and ran a 4.6 at the combine and all of a sudden he's around in the final round of the draft. The guy is a gifted athlete for sure and is more than worth the risk of taking him when they did. Imagine if he can become a threat and Brad Smith starts to get more involved. All of a sudden people will start to see that Chris Baker isn't as bad as some think and that the Jets don't NEED to have the next Antonio Gates/Tony Gonzales, etc. (I'm not saying it would be a bad thing to get one of those types of course)

Then again, Pennington won't be able to get him the ball anyway with his noodle arm, so when Clemens beats him out in camp we'll be alright. Obviously, being a big supporter of Chad I don't mean that but I do hope that Clemens learns a lot again this year (which no matter what anyone thinks of Chad's abilities there is no doubt that he is a very knowledgable QB) and is a legitimate threat to Pennington in '08. I do think Clemens will be a hell of a QB with another year of learning under his belt and may even be able to emerge this year if the opportunity arises.

i have to say Thomas Jones. He can compliment leon and will improve the running game tremendously. Also, the linebackers are better this year and improve the defense.
