Jeter's leadership on display.

Again, the Captain has a chance to step up and deflect some of the attention away from A-Rod and where is he? MIA.

That people say he is a leader is a joke. He does not have to be A-Rod's buddy, but he could kill all the A-Rod BS in a second by coming out and saying something.

Yet, the Silence of the Lamb continues.

The only person that has shown an ounce of leadership in that club house is Giambi.

A-Rod was caught on those photos. What is Jeter to say to the world, it didn't happen? All he could say is that this is the guy's private life, and it really is no ones business what he does with it.

But the NY Post (:banned: )crossed that line already.

The only thing that is a joke here is you. Jeter is supposed to comment on tabloid stories and get dragged into it himself? Jeter isn't a babysitter and isn't there to hold A-rod's hand. A-rod wants to yell at the 3rd baseman or cheat on his wife, that is on A-rod and only A-rod. Jeter wasn't on the field when A-rod yelled and he wasn't at the club when he was screwing the blond. What exactly would you have liked him to say? He probably wants to bash A-rod for being an idiot and is not gonna do it publicly.

The Captain should let A-rod know about the cooperative nightspots that accomodate the privacy of a supertar getting a little on the side. Other than that, unless Jeter can bat twice every time through the order or pitch effective middle relief, playing a solid SS and being a great hitter is enough.

All this A-rod crap is overblown. Torre and Jeter could've been more decent to A-rod from the beginning, but that ship has sailed. A-rod isn't the first baseball player to get casught fooling around on the road or divorced. Torre himself was divorced twice. So what? If Jeter said anything all it would do is feed the media beast, and that accomplishes nothing.

You people are clueless.

What is A-Rod being ripped for?

His "Ha" or "Mine" call. I have hardly heard anything about Stray-Rod since that story broke because it is not exactly news. Wow. An athlete cheated on his wife. Never heard of that before.

Maybe if you took your faces out of Jeter's ass and smelled some fresh air you could catch some news on his little Toronto bush league play. I mean...Bonds, the pariah of MLB smirked at the thought of doing something that bush league.

That is not the point. Again, Jeter could nip this. He could say it is a play everyone does and few if any would protest. However, he allows A-Rod get hit from coast to coast.

You ever think Arod told Jeter not to worry and to stay out of his business? How do you know exactly what is going on?

A-Rod cheating on his wife is hardly news - atheletes have been behaving badly forever - and coaches too, apparently. Yet, somehow when Bill Belichick has an affair, it's punishable by death. A-rod phucks around and he's just being a star athlete.

What I find most aggregious is the fake hand holding scene down Boylston Street in Boston yesterday and making sure he was by the window of the restaurant so the media can take pictures of him and his fake smile and his fake wife and his fake friends.

At least BB says and does nothing.

Like I said in another thread, A-Rod has to stop trying so hard to be liked. He comes off as a tool.

LMAO Sikh is getting ripped apart in this thread this is hilarious. :rl:

Carry on.

Maybe, you should try porn to get your rocks off.

Maybe in this season of disaster, Jeter would like the team to be able to focus on winning back to back games instead of worrying about answering A-Rod questions. Or giving Georgie another reason to have to get in front of a camera.

Seems just like the 80s and early 90s in the Bronx Zoo.

Maybe you should try watching porn instead of desperately trying to find something wrong with what Derek Jeter is or isn't doing. You would think you'd have something better to do.

If you want to rip Jeter for not coming to A-Rod's defense last year when everyone and their mother was on his case I would have no problem with that considering how fast he ran Torre's defense this year when the media was tearing him apart.

As far as this little tryst on with blondie is concerned, what is he going to say ?

Keep trying to rile the masses somehow it is just not working.

As opposed to a fanbase who believes that 1996 has any bearing on 2007.

Or a fanbase whom suddenly exploded on the 2004 win.

Don't Sox fans have anything to talk about other than the ****ing yankees??

There are more Yankees threads by Sox fans then there are by yankee fans.

I think it's natural for sox/pats fans to not have lives.

Much like the explosion of a fanbase in the mid 90's. Remember Yankee Stadium in the late 80's and early 90's? I do. Crickets.

What is not having a life? Having a baseball discussion in the baseball forum?

I forgot, your life is so fulfilling that you don't have time for this stuff.

Oh, wait.

This thread is hilarious. Sux fans can't even enjoy being in first place, a mile ahead of the Yankees and everybody else. They still have to cry about the internal workings of the struggling Yankees.

Please, let's have some more!

I liked the baseball forum before where lively smack talk was expected. All this sitting in a circle singing kumbaya is sickening. I blame school break and the release of thousands of committed mentally ill into the streets of NY. :)

And no, I am not a Sox fan.

What are we supposed to talk about Bob?

The second place Orioles?

The third place Jays?

Or the 200+ million dollar joke sitting tied for last with the D-Rays.

Let's be real here......the Yankees are the story of the year.

shawn306

No...I could give to craps about A-Rod and the blond.

It is Jeter's lack of defense of A-Rod again. I believe Jeter even defended Giambi one time.

Okay, how's this for reality?

The Red Sox are in first.

The Yankees are in last.

Feel better?

That's pretty witty. You must be refering to 'Maskgate.'

I don't remember any Yankee fans bringing this up when Posada did the same exact thing against the D-Rays.

But I digress.

When did the yankees ever brawl with the drays? I always see Posada take the mask and put it on top of his head as he walks a batter to 1st base if he's getting jumpy at his pitcher.

A thought just occurred to me. (I know, you guys can't believe that.)

According to Yankee fans, leaving the mask on was 'bush' right?

Wasn't that smart, though? If you're going to be in a fight, wouldn't you want all the advantage you can get? Win, by any means necessary?
