The Knicks will never win a playoff series with Stephon Marbury as the point guard.

Maybe we can get Collison from UCLA next year.

The east is putrid enough to win a series but they will never be a championship contender with him here, I agree.

How are they a playoff team?

Because a bunch of numbers on a sheet statistically prove it?

Zach Randolph is a liability on the defensive end. What did the Knicks need to upgrade this year? They needed to add a strong defensive presence in the post.

I care enough about the Knicks that it doesn't really matter if they are just 'watchable.'

I want my New York basketball team to represent my city. This team -- sans David Lee and Q -- are a bunch of impostors.

Then what the hell do you want on the Knicks? Mother Theresa? This is the NBA. Do you know how hard it is to get a 25 year old who averages 20-10 and has no significant injury history?

I agree the Knicks aren't a good defensive team but they are now a very good scoring team especially in the low post with Randolph and Curry and most teams in the NBA simply don't have that.

Unless some freak injuries happen this is now a playoff team. Live with it.

Yes.

I have no ****ing clue of the situation at all.

I only worked for MSG and the Knicks for a year.

I only watched, wrote, broke down film, attended press conferences and interviews on a nightly basis.

But I don't know what this team needs at all.

Finally, you're right about something.

Good posts

The Heat though did it with Shaq-Wade...

Defense wins championships... its the truth

Funny thing is if the Knicks didn't make this trade then Randolph would have ended up on the Bulls. There were a lot of rumors prior to the draft that the Bulls wanted Randolph so they could upgrade their low-post scoring, which is non-existent right now.

Im glad they didnt get him... but also curious to see how they plan on getting points down low...

Tyrus Thomas is explosive but to raw skill wise... and its ashame Sweetney never got his fat ass in shape... he was pretty good when he wasnt out of breath...

I think Isiah still has a move up his sleeve, Curry and Randolph are not great compliments, we are 2 players over the roster limit and we have a bunch of SF/PFs.

Wouldnt be surprised if Isiah makes a run at Kobe, this time involving Curry in offers....

I wouldn't be surprised if Isiah made another move though I think it will be for Rashard Lewis, not Kobe. Only way the Knicks can get Kobe is if they offer a Richardson-Eddy Curry package and I doubt Thomas wants to trade Curry.

Garnett is still available but if the Bulls don't get him you'll be regretting that they didn't push harder to acquire Randolph. Tyrus Thomas is a role player and so is Noah.

I would like to see the Bulls go for KG... but not too much, and only with a new contract...

Finally, you're right about something.

If you think Zach Randolph will drastically improve the Knicks and make them a playoff contender -- I'm also guaranteeing you were also all over the Marbury acquisition -- then your knowledge clearly doesn't leave the stat sheet.

Sad.

But true.

The Knicks needed a defensive presence.

Not Easy-E 2.0 with a better jump shot.

Makes me wonder if you even watched the squad last year. Acquiring another shoot first player on a squad full of them, yea, that's brilliant.

Looks like I'll just have to play the, "I told you so game."

What a load of crap. I don't know if you were fired from whatever your job was at the Garden, forced to quit or whatever but it sounds like you have a serious case of sour grapes. Zach Randolph is a very good low-post scorer and he grabs a lot of rebounds. If you don't think that makes the Knicks a better team you are in serious denial.

Is he a shoot-first player? Yes, but he is a good one unlike guys like Jamal Crawford and washed up Stevie Franchise who we by the way got rid of as a result of this trade. I know you're in love with David Lee and wish he was inside of you right now and while I like him as a role player Randolph is a way better rebounder and scorer - it isn't even close.

Have fun rooting against the Knicks this year. Just warning you though, if the Knicks end up making the playoffs I will take a large sh*t on you.

Gotta ask-why would Portland give up on this guy? Stats are wonderful. Calls from police stations and hospitals at odd hours, fights in practice and posses are less than wonderful. This is Thomas taking a risk in hopes of bailing out his team.

And look back-Eddie Curry for Tyrus Thomas and Joachim Noah. That's not such a great trade.

Who cares ?

Are you a Knicks fan ?

The knicks can't possibly be worse or more of a laughingstock than they have been in the past 4 years. Randolph can't do anything to make the situation worse because it can't possibly get worse.

He doesn't play defense.

He takes minutes from David Lee, the one guy who does play defense.

He adds to the endless cap headache. So when those Shaq/Kobe/Garnett players come on the market, the Knicks will not have cap room nor players to make those blockbuster trade that actually brings you team closer to a championship. Instead, you've got the overpriced Island of Misfit Toys.

He's very likely to cause the same kinds of problems he found regularly in Portland.

Attack me and not the facts of the god damn situation.

Real mature, Peter.

Sway from the fact the Knicks most glaring need last year was defense.

Keep thinking Eddy Curry 2.0 is going to aid in helping a team that wasn't in need of anymore offensive production.

Keep thinking there will be enough touches for Eddy, Zac, Stephon and Crawford on offense.

It's nice to live in fantasy land, say hi to the Easter Bunny for me.

Educate yourself.

Check out Bugg's last post. That's knowledge.

1 Lee tries to play D but he's a pretty bad defender.

2 Randolph's contract isn't much worse on the cap than Francis' was.

3 Again, who cares if he gets in trouble. This is a chance you have to take.

People said the same thing about Sprewell when the Knicks brought him here. They are an instant playoff team with this trade. There are FIVE players in the NBA who avg'd 20 and 10 this last year. The knicks got one of them for nothing. There is NO universe in which this is a bad trade.

You must be Isiah's wedlock child?

Not really. I think Isiah is an awful GM but i've got to give him credit for this move.

haha i dont know I think Channing Frye was pretty damn good

but getting rid of old man Stevie Franchise was a smart move, he's dead weight and not a good influence on the team.

Hey real neat post.

Have you heard of this new invention called the paragraph?

It's really cool.

Almost as cool as the new iphone.

People with above a 5th grade education tend to use it.

They usually consist of three or more sentences put together.

But hey, you got fired from the Garden.

That's an accomplishment considering Jimmy Dolan runs the place.

It took Scott Layden like 5 years to got fired from there.

And Scott Layden probably couldn't work at a Dairy Queen.

Are you Scott Layden?

Hiding behind the guise of a porn star!

I think that says enough about your member, petro.

Hey, I was just quoting something you had said about yourself.

You do realize that you can write more than one sentence on each line.

That's kind of the point of having punctuation.

Commas, periods, these are devices that can be used to separate statements.

I'm starting to think that maybe you are Scott Layden.

You keep stressing how the knicks need a defensive presence.

One without a rap sheet.

If that's the case, maybe the Knicks should have swung a deal for your boy Shawn Bradley?
