we had a very nice night. We sat on the beach and watched fireworks across the water. It was amazing all of the fireworks you could see on the horizon. So beautiful. Then we sat through more right above us. The kids loved it. Spent some time on the boardwalk and played some games. It was a good night!!

anyone have a great time worth mentioning?

After downing roughly 1/2 of a Heineken mini-keg and 8-10 snakebites, I woke up this morning to my wife asking me, "Why did you do that last night?"

I stare at her blankly, not knowing what the hell she's talking about.

Wife: You don't remember, do you?

Me: Uhhh, no. Did I embarass you?

Wife: No. You embarrassed yourself.

Me: Phew...

Wife: Weren't you cold?

Me: Cold? Umm, maybe you should fill in the blanks for me.

Turns out I stumbled home around 11:30PM, went to the freezer, pulled out a 1/2 gallon of ice cream, opened the slider that leads to the deck, and proceeded to eat the majority of the ice cream right out of the container on the deck. In the pouring rain. Bare ass naked.

The good thing is that I'm kinda starting to remember doing that. The bad thing is that I'm kinda starting to remember doing that. Thankfully the only ones to see me were my wife and maybe the old lady that lives in the house behind me.

Snakebites are baaaaaaad!

I played texas hold 'em...not that big of a fan, but i did end up winning some dinero which is cool.

what do you guys think of this play...

We had been 1 v 1 for about 40 minutes, a lot of all in calls by my friend who had a about 1/5th the chips i did, but was getting pretty bad cards, so i just let him take them down.

I was dealt pocket 4's, he goes all in, and i call. He had J, Q, and i ended up winning after the cards were dealt.

good play? bad play? i mean i ended up winning, but it doesn't mean its a quality call, just curious what you poker players think.

Hubby & I went to the movies to see Shrek. I couldn't believe how packed the theater was. Anyway, Shrek was sold out so we went to see Ratatouille instead. Very cute movie with amazing cgi.

wow,, shrek packed still,,u live in very crowded area or sticks?

Neither but we have to travel 25 minutes in any direction to go to the movies or a Home Depot or a Target etc etc.

It was the threat of thunderstorms that diverted everyone to the theaters, I think.

You are my hero. I've always maintained if you're going to party - you party. Sounds like you had a great time buddy!

Did the annual 5 days of fundraiser with our club that fights child abuse and domestic violence. Had some great bands (George Thorogood, Los Lonely Boys, Heart, Savoy Brown, Psychedelic Furs, Blue Oyster Cult, The Fix, Randy Travis, Dark Star Orchestra, Marshall Tucker - and - Black Cat Bone)

great weather, and great ribs. Hopefully raised close to $1mm to give to our charities.

After about a week of 18 hour days putting that on - I think I'm going to bed till Monday.

Could have jw - I'm in Chi-town and we did get a huge downpour about 1 am yesterday morning, but fortunately it's been so dry the grounds just drank it up and we didn't have a Woodstock scenario.

Had a blast. I think my wife may have told a couple of my neighbors about it because I got a few snickers when I got home from work this afternoon.

oh I didn't know that. that must be a lot of work coordinating & dealing with those personalities. We're they all pretty cool about it or did some ego's have problems with when they performed etc. there must be at least one good story out of it all

Loose-Agressive types will just try to bully and buy the pot until they get into a more powerful position. If he was calling all-in alot, odds were he didn't always have a good hand so it was a risky move on your part assuming he didn't have much. But pocket 4's still isn't a very good hand since he could pair up higher cards pretty easily and your only hope is another 4 drop (only a 4% chance, 1:25), which matched up against the pot odds (1:2), assuming you were hoping for three of a kind, TECHNICALLY isn't a good call, but again it all comes down to the style of play with your opponent. I would probably have done the same thing, but mostly because I get bored easy and would have wanted to end the game haha.

I think?

That's sort of where i was at in the game. Both of us were tired of shuffeling/dealing/folding/re-dealing. you know how it goes...

I tend to play on too much emotion, so when he called all in, and i new i had my 4's, i was just hoping he didn't have a higher pair. It worked this time, but you're right in that pulling the 3rd 4 rarely happens.

You play much? i used to a few years ago, but have slowed since.

I try to play as much as I can but since I'm under 21 I can't get into any of the card houses in the area. And gambling is illegal in California anyways so there are only a few Indian casinos scattered around the area (which I still couldn't go to anyways). I tend to play with my friends, more of a casual game, but I read alot of books and I did read a few Texas Holdem ones so thats really where I got all that from.

Deviated septum?... if thats how its spelled. That surgery is very "in" right now, just like how getting your tonsils out or wisdom teeth pulled used to be what everybody did, now everyone gets that. But hey, when your insurance covers it why not?! I'm sure Seahawkpatsiechick will be thrilled that you don't snore anymore. Good luck!

You'll have to let me know how it goes. It wouldn't hurt for me to have it done but the closest thing to surgery that I have ever had is having my wisdom teeth pulled so I'm a little hesitant to have it done.
