Josh Johnson-QB San Diego 1AA

Josh Johnson has been slated by many to be the first Div 1AA player taken in next year's draft. Most people have not heard of him though, despite throwing for 3320 yds, 34 tds:5 ints with a 66.3% completion rating, and the year before he had a 70.1%. He also ran for 720 yds and averaged 6.7 ypc. Even in 1AA, those are VERY respectable numbers. He stands at 6-3, probably 6-2 and change, which is okay size, but weighs 195 lbs, and could easily bulk up for the draft. He runs a 4.56 40 with a 33 inch vertical, but only can press about 6 times and no squat info is available. Ricky Santos of U New Hampshire is well known because of the fact he was David Ball's QB when Ball surpassed Jerry Rice. Ricky Santos won DIV 1AA Heisman equivalent, the Walter Payton award, but only threw for 3125 yds, 29:7 and averaged 67.8% completion, but but had a lower yards per completion average. He also ran for 384 yds, but only averaged 2.6 yds per carry. He did get sacked 35 times opposed to 15 for Johnson. Johnson is a 21 year old junior, opposed to 23 year old senior for Santos. No academic or behavioral problems for Johnson. Also, Johnson runs the 49ers style WC offense under former 49er and Raiders assistant coach Ron Caragher. Dat be all. http://usdtoreros.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/johnson_josh00.html
