gang_green03
Yea I read that earlier and I still don't understand the logic of cutting him. But if they do for some reason then we should take a shot at him. He's young, cheap, and talented. No risk, high reward.

GM
Isn't he on the PUP list? If he is they can not cut him. Three options remain - activate him, place him on the reserve/PUP (which would sideline him until after Week 6), or move him to injured reserve, ending his season. Still, the 2nd. round hasn't been good to the Patriots and that's probably why they didn't pick a player in the 2nd. this year.

Wilson I'm luke warm over. He is serviceable but without Harrison just a JAG.
124
No thanks. We don't need any other receivers. We already are going to enter the season with 6 after Frisman Jackson unfortunately loses out to Chansi Stuckey and Wallace Wright for the 5th and 6th slots. 124
LaMont Jordan was not traded. LaMont Jordan isn't a starting NFL back by any means GreenMachine. The Raiders have figuered this out and that is why Dominic Rhodes was brought in. When he returns in Week 5, he will be starting by Week 6. Either way, if Jackson is released it will be a horrible pick made by Patriots if they have to release him already. Schlegel was a horrible pick by the Jets, but Jackson would be a bigger waste. Horrible pick is right. Jackson doesnt want to stay on PUP and claims he can play. 3 different injuries in one season. Marques Colston had a hell of a rookie season. NE and NY missed on that guy. serphnx
The Jordan scenario is why I'm not so high on Turner, it's easy to look good backing up a HoF RB. Carrying the load though is another thing entirely.

It makes no sense to cut him. He is signed through 2009. Short of an injury buy-out, the Patriots have no reason to cut him this year when they can IR him and have him comeback at full strength. Something about receivers (Bethel) in the second round the Patriots fail to grasp.

According to him and his agent he is good to practice and compete for a roster spot. NE may have no other option but to cut him.

It is not like he is riding the pine for free. Sounds more like Bethel Johnson whining about he wants a fair chance when the bottomline is he did not raise his game to get on the field. Good. I hope he loses the grievance and sits and pouts for weeks and weeks - only to be released once he's off of PUP. See yah.
