Ankle Problems

So, does anyone here know about ankle injuries at all? Its not that serious, but it may start to become somewhat serious. Over the past few weeks the outside part of my left foot, right below the ankle, has been killing me, more so when I stand obviously. Is it just being on it too much? (Working 30-35 hours standing at a register / walking around a store) or is something else possibly? Like I said, I can deal with it, but it does continue to get worse.

Im not a doctor and I wont try to diagnose you but from my injury experiences if it keeps getting worse you probably injured it and the constant pressure on it is agrivating it...You should probably get it checked out.

Gout? is it swollen?

Doesn't appear to be bigger than the other. Its right below the ball of the ankle. I can see my veins more in that foot than the other, does that help?:) Maybe it is gout but I don't think so.

It would be swollen/red if it was gout. Could be starting though, if youre on your feet alot. That is if your older than say 45........

Ha! Not even close to 45.

Youre good to go on the gout then. usually happens to older people who are on their feet alot throughout their lives (nurses). Or after an injury or surgery. Uric acid builds up and attacks the joint--very painfull

Tendinitis maybe? I've had this in my heels before, pain in the butt.

Since there is no swelling, I would recommend soaking your foot in hot water and epson salt, this always worked for me. I have had many ankle injuries, when I started using the epson salt after the swelling went down, I would heal alot faster, takes the pain away too.

Not good eh?

I will try the hot water / epston salt thing. I am off the next 2 days and will see if this is just for being on my feet for 9 out of 10 days.

124,

What kind of shoes do you wear to work? Maybe it's time for a new pair?

Or maybe you should be jellin'.

Thats what I was gonna say, it could depend on your shoes.

Basketball shoes are pretty comfortable and protect the ankle, fwiw.
