lancemehl
Is HE worth a decent LG, packaged, of course. We have a CROWDED secondary. It's straight up crowded. Many of us think Miller is a stud at CB, we have the best CB in college last year, Dyson, Barrett and a guy who played lights out late last year, Poteat. I also like Eric Smith to start at safety, but either way we are covered there. This LG thing is killing me. I think our defense is Solid and we have some pawns to play with, even Dyson. The offense is Solid. Brick and Gold, Coles and The Mayor, One of the greatest Qb's ever at completeing passes and a thunder/lightning threat behind him.Plus, my newly found knowledge that we have a bull dozer at FB(he HAS TO BE with those numbers and starting in the NFL for 5 years.) We are missing one piece.LG. That left side has to be sured up, but some people have Dyson Jerseys and don't want to lose him. Understandable being the proud owner of a Keyshawn Christmas '98 present(or was it 99?) and a Santana Moss home and away, so What about Barrett? as far as the rest of the league knows, he's a starter. How about Barrett and Hobson for a very good starting OG? If you don't like Hobson, pick someone else, maybe a 4th rounder or something. P.S I'm looking at the Depth chart, man we cleaned out our RB's,huh LOL What a group of scrubs! Imagine CM in the backfield last year. OK, back to earth......... lancemehl
Hopefully we can get someone off the waiver wire Barrett and Hobson are both going nowhere I'm not saying you're wrong, you're probably right, but WHY????? Why keep Dyson,Revis,Miller,Barrett,Drew Coleman and Poteat at CB Is Barrett not a PERFECT trading pawn? A starter that we absolutely DO NOT NEED. Hobson, I'm half/half, I just threw his name out as a possibility.
DefenseWinsChampionships
Is HE worth a decent LG, packaged, of course. We have a CROWDED secondary. It's straight up crowded. Many of us think Miller is a stud at CB, we have the best CB in college last year, Dyson, Barrett and a guy who played lights out late last year, Poteat. Posted by DefenseWinsChampionships- First of all... Under Mangini's defensive scheme the CB's are required to make alot of tackles in the open field, which could = some injurys in the secondary this season. A secondary, as long as it's filled with talent can never be over CROWDED... Also Poteat may have played solid last year at the end, but he is far from LIGHTS OUT... last but not least, Miller has Potential to be a stud because of his raw talent and age, but he is far from a stud as of right now. I also like Eric Smith to start at safety, but either way we are covered there. Posted by DefenseWinsChampionships E.Smith may have alot of potential and may see alot of playing time this year but as of right now he's still not ready to be a starter... Plus E.Coleman is so underrated thats it's not even funny... With Rhodes and Coleman starting for us, we actually have one of the best 1-2 punches as far as Starting Safetys go in the NFL (Much better than the Harrisonless Patriots) This LG thing is killing me. I think our defense is Solid and we have some pawns to play with, even Dyson. Posted by DefenseWinsChampionships lol man... Dyson is a huge part of our secondary as of right now... He's far from a pawn if you ask me. Like I have been saying... Right now we have a solid group of CB's with Dyson as our #1, Revis as our #2, J.Miller is a perfect fit for the #3 CB for the simple fact he will be guarding the opposing teams slot WR and Miller is just as quick if not faster than any slot WR in the game plus he is so physical that he can put a hurting on the slot WR's, and having D.Barrett as our #4 CB is PERFECT for this Jets team. I really dont know of any #4 WR's that can make Barrett look silly. Now put it this way... If we trade Dyson... That means that D.Barrett will then become the #1 CB for the Jets for the simple fact D.Revis is still a rookie and he's not ready to man up with the T.Ownes, M.Harrisons, T.Holts, and R.Moss' of the NFL, and god knows J.Miller is not ready to be thrown into the fire as a #1 CB as of right now, so by trading Dyson that actually puts alot of holes in the secondary because Barrett will then be the #1 CB. The offense is Solid. Brick and Gold, Coles and The Mayor, One of the greatest Qb's ever at completeing passes and a thunder/lightning threat behind him.Plus, my newly found knowledge that we have a bull dozer at FB(he HAS TO BE with those numbers and starting in the NFL for 5 years.) Posted by DefenseWinsChampionships We need Barrett on this team for the simple fact anything can happen in the NFL as far as injuries go... Lets give Bender a chance, you never know... He may turn out to be a solid guard in the NFL for years to come. But it makes no sence to fill one hole and add another, if that was the case... We should have just paid P.Kendall the extra million that he wanted instead of losing players such as Hobson, Dyson/Barrett all for Pete Kendall. P.S I'm looking at the Depth chart, man we cleaned out our RB's,huh LOL What a group of scrubs! ....

lancemehl
.... OK I didn't see the Barrett part, so I'll change my post. I'm not happy with "let's give Bender a chance".sorry. We didn't use a #4 and 16 or 20 orwhatever on two stud OLM to fill the 300lb gap in between them with "a chance" just to keep a million CB's on the team. We should have just paid P.Kendall the extra million that he wanted instead of losing players such as Hobson, Dyson/Barrett all for Pete Kendall. That's not helping. The Falcons "shoul've" draft LT. Let's deal with NOW. Do you want to start the season with Bender?

lancemehl
I already did... Go back and read my last post... Yes I see, I was changing mine while you were writing yours. lol I'm just saying, I know where you're coming from. We drafted Revis to have 2 great CB's and shut down the passing game, I get that. Now use that same logic with Brick and Mangold. Don't you think that Barrett is worth that? Now we have the 1-2 punch covered on defense and Chad's back is protected. Forget trading Dyson,OK, You don't think Barrett is tradable for a good, solid LG? packaged with some othe BS of course.
