Smizzy
Jets | T. Jones expected to practice Sun, 2 Sep 2007 10:54:32 -0700 Tom Rock, of Newsday, reports New York Jets RB Thomas Jones (calf) is expected to practice Monday, Sept. 3. I hope he has game legs. 124
He'll be fine. If Thomas is practicing this week, he'll be 100% and ready to go for the Patriots. Its going to be interesting. Our line is going to be better with Bender for the running game but worse off for the pass. Unfortunately, New England is better at stopping the run so its going to be the Jets' OLine & Jones vs. New England's front 7. This may be the reason a team wins the game as to who wins that battle. Alk
Luckily the Pats took a hit in their Pass D this week with Harrison going down... Considering that Rodney is a Safety and Pennington can't throw the ball over 15 yards I can't see how this is going to be much of a problem. Gainzo
Ok AlkTX Chad first throw against the Giants went 30+ yards in the air BTW You have to stop bringing up the "30 yards in the air" play from the Giants game. It actually makes your argument look worse. High School QB's can throw the ball 30 yards in the air.

Chad did it with 300+lb men charging him... and extremely fast DB's all within 5-10 yards of the completion... Chad can throw the ball very far in the air... I was pointing out that he cac also make a deep completion in an NFL game

Thats ECurbs point right there... With Harrison out, the Patriots secondary will be suspect and chad may not have a cannon, but he can, and will attack this secondary of the Pats. 124
Wow, Chad Pennington can softly toss a ball 25-30 yards on the sideline. Bravo. As Gainzo said, a High School Quarterback can do that. Can he do it with NFL speed and can he do it over the middle of the field? No. Can he do it on a consistent basis? No.

Okay, enough of this 2nd most accurate passer of all time bull****. He crossed the mark of needed attemps LAST SEASON. Its what? You need 1500 attemps to be considered? Wow. Once he plays a few more seasons, if he does, lets see where he lays there. Kurt Warner is #1 I believe. I guess the best Quarterback ever is Kurt Warner huh? Anyone can up their "accuracy" points by dumping it off to Jerald Sowell, Richie Anderson, BJ Askew, Curtis Martin and Leon Washington.
Damaged89
I think people are overestimating Harrison's importance. The Pats are missing an injury riddled AARP member, not the Rodney Harrison of 4 or 5 years ago.

Dude... please stop and do a little research... Chad highest % for completions in 2006 was 21-30 yard passes... 70% http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/splits?playerId=2149 He also completed 75% of his passes when the D put 6 men on the line for pass rushing.. and 4TD's with only 1 INT

It's amazing that Warner has the #1 completion % as he threw the ball deep 5-10 times a game (something Chad has never done). As you said it is easy to pad your completion % by dumping the ball off to a RB. Kurt Warner > Chad Pennington.

Gainzo
Read above... please... before you post do some reading... Got me there... I was looking at hit attempts rather than throws... FYI though Tom Brady 16 Completions, 39 attempts, 453 yards, 41.0 % completion rate (80.4 passer rating) Here is the big stat.... Chad Pennington threw FIVE (5) Touchdowns and ONE INT in that category (thrown 21-30 yards) Tom Brady threw TWO (2) touchdowns and TWO INT's in that category Chad Pennington was more effective than Tom Brady as a mid-deep passer. I swear I will get back on track after this Here are the stats for Brady & Pennington on passes that traveled in the air 31+ yards. Pennington: 3 completions, 12 attempts, 123 yards, 1 TD, 2 INT Brady: 6 completions, 24 attempts, 275 yards, 3 TD, 3 INT ecurb: Chad only attempted 12 passes with receivers like Cotch & Coles. Brady attempted 24 passes with the likes of Gaffney & Caldwell. Why didn't Chad throw more deep balls? I think we all know the answer to that. And just to prove how misleading your "stats" are here are Bradys splits in the 31+ yards categories: Ball not thrown 31-40 yards in the air: 39 CMP, 52 ATT, 410 yards, 75% CMP, 4 TD, 1 INT Ball thrown 31-40 yards in the air: 4 CMP, 16 ATT, 172 yards, 25% CMP, 2 TD, 2 INT
