StillerPaul
So the Steelers cannot hit someone within the rules of the game and have to resort to a cheap shot. Nice. I'm not explaining that hit again.. Yeah, it was late but had Troy P not knocked the ball down Clark would have dis-lodged the ball from welker himself. I have watched the replay ALOT. You guys spent a ton of time defending Rodney Harrison for his physical play yet when the tables are turned it's a different tune? And don't even try n tell me Harrison never did that... StillerPaul
Anybody but Rich Rod. would have been an improvement. I don't like him as a human being. He did indeed have a right to leave WV but at a price. He had just signed a new contract the year before. It was quite clear, you leave within 2 years you owe us $4 mil. Simple. He leaves, which is his right, then he wants to weasel out of paying the money. Total POS just like Petrino who himself TOLD Arthur Blanks he was staying as Atlanta coachthen Blanks watches TV the next morning and finds out he bolted for Arkansas. 2 POS's. Wow i didn't even realize that Rich Rod did that. Here i was blasting him just for being a bad coach. lol

Clark never had eyes for the football. His sole purpose was to destroy Welker. From Barstool Sports: Vince Wilfork was just on WEEI and said that Belichick showed the team tape of Clark laying guys out like this over and over again, but only when they were defenseless. And then when he's head up on a guy, he'll turtle or go after their legs. So add Ryan Clark to the Pats 2009 Payback List, right after Bernard Pollard. http://www.barstoolsports.com/randomthoughts/2008/12/01/ryan_clark_hit_wes_welker/

From Barstool Sports: http://www.barstoolsports.com/randomthoughts/2008/12/01/ryan_clark_hit_wes_welker/ Are we supposed to take Wilfork's word at face value? *I haven't even seen the play, but I'd hardly use something said by a fellow Patriots player, who happens to be known as a dirty player. Just sayin'.

war ensemble
He dropped his head before the ball was tipped, so I think it's safe to assume his intent was to dislodge the ball when Welker caught it. If he kept his head up he would've seen the tip, but he didn't. He hit Welker with his shoulder. I don't think their was harmful intent with it, but it deserved the unnecessary roughness penalty. I don't much about Clark's background, so I don't know if he does that often.

Like i said, he made the mistake of putting his head down and missed the part where Troy P batted the ball down. C'mon man, you're better than that. First, I was just busting your chops earlier. I do not have a problem with the hit. Second, I will disagree with you on Clark's intent. His intent was to hit Welker as hard as he could. Defending the pass was not in that thought process. If his intent was to defend the pass, as you said, he would have kept his head up and he could still put a good hit on Welker. He launched himself to crush Welker. I understand getting a free shot in.

One turnover - maybe two - the Patriots could overcome - maybe - but five? This team is not good enough for that. Anyway, I don't see any "getting under the skindom" here. I just see a teammate sticking for another after a cheap hit....he "launcehd" himself. Welker was defenseless there and let down his guard because the ball was out of play. Clark will be fined and suspended. You'll see.
abyzmul
Vince Wilfork really has the stones to talk about dirty play? REALLY??? Garb
Suspension will not happen...fine yes...guessing 15k Led with shoulder not head.... .....on a defenseless receiver with the ball out of play. Whatever. This is not Clark's first infraction of the year. He was fined for a hemet to helmet hitt on Matt Jones earlier this year. I beleive Goddell does not take kindly to multiple offenders. I suspect the fine will be more that 15K and I, personally, hope he is suspended. While they are at it - they ought to fine that POS HC they have for laughing about Welkers concussion. Garb
Wilfork has been busted twice. I would hope that the same punishment levied against him will be levied against Clark, another two time offender.....and Clark can't afford it the way Wilfork can - which is great by me, that piece of feces! Plus, Clark left his feet and launched himself into a defenseless player that relaxed after the ball was out of play. Wilfork couldn't launch himself even if a three layer chocolate cake was going to be his prize. And, while they are at it, they ought to fine that slick slimeball Tomlin for laughing at a players concussion. Typical though. It's Pittsburgh. Classless people. Actually, Wilfork was fined on four separate occasions last season - Losman hit, Jacobs eye-poke, face-mask on Michael Turner, and his tussle with Witten. Does hurling your 350lb body, elbow first, into a QB's knee qualify as a "launch" by your standards? Wilfork was a doucbag on that play in the video. No argument here. Clark was a douchebag for his launch into Welker after the ball was out of play and he could have layed off a bit - and blatantly chose not to. Anyone that defends that hit is an azzhole.....sorry, Assmop. Plus, I see no video of BB laughing after Wilforks lunge....and if anyone has video, it would be BB, right?
