BP
OK, moving on to happier stories, such as...dancing days are here again, because the three surviving members of Led Zeppelin are finally getting back together! Yep, hard rock fans still dazed and confused by recent news of the long-delayed Van Halen reunion have even more reason to celebrate, now that this even longer-delayed reunion is reportedly in the works. Incredibly, according to NME.com, frontman Robert Plant is in talks this week with fellow Led Zep legends Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones about a Zeppelin tour that'll hopefully kick off in London this November. Presumably late drummer John Bonham's son, Jason Bonham (last seen banging skins for celebreality band Damnocracy on VH1's Supergroup), will fill in behind the drumkit for the Zep trek; since Damnocracy mouthpiece Sebastian Bach is busy trying to launch a hip-hop career on MTV's Celebrity Rap Superstars (more on that HERE), we're guessing Damnocracy are on indefinite hiatus and Jason will therefore thankfully be free. link It will not be the same without John Bonham. but I would still go see them. TaborJet
link It will not be the same without John Bonham. but I would still go see them. Forget Zep, Sebastion Bach is doing rap! Where do I sign up to see that? I saw Page/Plant in late '95 at the Garden. They had a full symphony backing them, and the whole show was Zep tunes. Kashmir was amazing. They opened with the Wanton Song, and when Page first came out, I have never heard such a loud roar from the crowd. I've been to many concerts mind you, but overall this was the loudest crowd ever. Other highlights were In The Evening and Gallows Pole. Plant's voice was starting to decline back then. I hope he can still hit some of those high notes. BUM-KNEE
I saw Jason Bonham in 90 or so when he had the band Bonham going, they were pretty good. He was pretty good himself, the apple didnt fall too far from the tree. Heres one of their songs that got airplay, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ne066jStW_w

He's good, but his father used to use these huge telephone pole drumsticks. they were the biggest drum sticks used by any drummer at that time. and that explosion was Led Zeppelin. I saw Led Zeppelin in 1977 at the spectrum with John Bonham, it was amazing even though I was just a kid. they played Achilles last stand live at that show. it's a 10 minute song off of presence that John Bonham absolutely kicked ass with. Yeah John Bonham was one of my idols when I played drums, I played 23 years and I still couldnt figure out how he did some of his stuff. LOL He was the king of the back beat. jetophile
I never much cared for Led Zeppelin. And, I hated Rush and Yes. As a matter of fact, I often felt like stabbing myself in the face when my friends would subject me. Black Sabbath and Pink Floyd, yes (but EXCLUDE 'The Wall'). So as to the majors, that's it. The only song I actually like by Led Zeppelin is 'No Quarter'. Great song, and that's it. I can easily ignore the rest. If Robert Plant attempts to come out at nigh year 75 years old without a shirt, I'll vomit. I never found him attractive in the first place. But I won't be there, so I guess I'm spared the eyesore just the same. 'The Song Remains The Same' I'm thinking. Pun intended.

Green DNA
Led Zep was always in my core group of favorite bands in the 70'sm and I'll definitely go see them if they can last until NY. Funny thing is, my son loves them and we will probably go together.
jetophile
Either artists evolve or they just start looking dumb. I'm thinking this is a dumb moment. Look at the Rolling Stones. I mean, don't. Unless you want your retinas to go on fire.
dickkotite
jason bonham is a real snobby a hole and a mediocre drummer. did u see him on that celebrity tv show? "Im british, I dont shoot guns..." yea right like the british are not know to point and shoot guns at others-especially colord folks

Unless you want your retinas to go on fire. Everybody's entitled to their likes and dis-likes. Plant doesn't have near half the voice he used to and there was only 1 Bonham. But they will do a lot more things good than they do bad on this tour which makes it a must see for me.

crackbackblock
I'd go see them again. Will try to get to VH too. The Led Zep DVD set that came out 3 years ago is incredible. Check it out.
MrsTaborJet
I'll never forget the MTV Led Zep No Quarter special that aired back in '93 or '94. I must have watched that a dozen times. Would love to see them now!
jetophile
you know, im tired of hearing things like this. who really cares what they look like if they can still play? Hahaha, of course you should at the very least care if they can still PLAY. What's the point of going to see them then? You may as well listen to circus monkeys banging pots and pans together in that event. Hell, they'd probably put on a better show. As to what people look like, technically it has no bearing. I'm not saying quit performing. What I am saying is grow old gracefully. It just looks silly sometimes. I still see people from high school in town now and again, and they're sporting the same friggin' haircuts they had in the 11th grade. And that was 26 yrs. ago, yo. drago
you know, im tired of hearing things like this. who really cares what they look like if they can still play? I'm always more impressed with the artists that make it big that are NOT as attractive as some. i.e. aretha franklin, steven tyler, whomever else...
