BEREA Romeo Crennel didn’t rule out playing Brady Quinn Sunday against the Bengals.

“There are no personnel changes we will talk about,’’ the Browns’ head coach said in his Monday-after press conference in the wake of a 34-7 loss to the Steelers.

“Whether I will make any (changes) or not, I will let you know the next time we meet.’’

He won’t address the press again until Wednesday.

The handful of Browns who showed up for today’s media period seemed curious about what happens next, without getting themselves in trouble.

“Charlie (Frye) didn’t play his best game,’’ Crennel said.

Derek Anderson, who replaced Frye in the second quarter, was so-so. As the designated N0. 3 quarterback, Quinn was eligible to play in the fourth quarter, or earlier as long as Frye and Anderson didn’t come back in the game.

The buzz among Browns fans centers around Quinn will vault all the way to No. 1 against Cincinnati.

“We’re all on the same page,’’ tight end Steve Heiden said. “We all want to see the best person play.’’

Heiden, though, opened a few eyes when asked if he thinks Quinn is ready to start.

“You’d have to ask Brady that,’’ Heiden said, “but from what I’ve seen, I think he is.’

Running back Jamal Lewis said, “That’s for them to decide upstairs.’’

General Manager Phil Savage and Crennel talk on a regular basis. How soon the rookie Quinn should play is an ongoing theme.

Meanwhile, punter Dave Zastudil said he is optimistic about punting Sunday against the Bengals. With Zastudil nursing a back injury, young Paul Ernster replaced him, with disastrous results.

“When Cincinnati comes this week, I expect to be full go and ready.’’

Zastudil said this morning, “My body right now is telling m I think that’s what’s gonna happen

I am willing to bet that QUINN would receive a warm welcome from the Browns fans. That is a bit different then what Kellen seems to be getting from alleged Jets fans.

 Sorry but you've lost me here KJ. (actually it's not that difficult ;)) I have not yet read one post wishing Kellen (or is it kelly? :P) nothing but the best if he starts Sunday. Go Jets
