Thor99
In North Bergen, on Townelle (sp?), there's a place called Casual Spain. Best Paella in the world, and fantastic pitchers of Sangria. Not sure if it's still there, haven't been there for 10 years.

JetFanByMarriage
Are you saying that he passed on his birthday?? Sorry for your loss, Lauren. Yes, he died this morning right after midnight. Today is his birthday. I saw him on friday when I heard he was not doing well and it was the best thing I could have done. I was glad I got to kiss him goodbye. They were awesome grandparents. They had 6 kids and 26 grandchildren/great grandchildren. They created a great big family. Thank you for all your responses!!!!! Thank you Lady Jet, that was very sweet. FAMILY, that is all my grandparents focused on and I do too. Max always says I am exactly like my grandmother and that is the best compliment anyone could ever give me. She was amazing and so was my grandfather. It will be a rough three days ahead. Oh Lauren...God Bless you and your family as you mourn the loss of your grandfather. I will keep you and your family in my heart and prayers. I had a cousin whom after a long bout with cancer blew out his candles earlier in the day and died that night. Symbolism iss wicked sometimes. But he's with his forever love and thats a blessing. Glad you got to see him aand share that love before he passed. Hang in there and Bless you.

JetFanByMarriage
Thank you everyone for responding with such gentle words. The wakes went pretty smoothly and were not as bad as I thought due to the fact that so many people came who I have not seen in years so there was alot of story telling going on. It was a nice tribute to my grandpa. The funeral however was much harder then I thought. I thought I was prepared until that morning when you actually realize that, that part of your life is over and a chapter has closed. A chapter that I truly appreciated and loved so much. My grandparents meant the world to me and I hope they knew that. Anyway, everything went smoothly and we even had an amazing police escort, I believe 5 of them, that helped the day be stress free. Absolutely amazing job they did. Hopefully my grandpa is resting peacefully with grandma and enjoying the reward they have recieved for all the hard work they did down here! lauren
