Sperm Edwards
What good will going 4-5 WR's if the defense knows they don't need to defend the wide ones once they get past 15 yards? It still leaves too congested of an area for a floater. But good read overall. Our supposedly premiere players are either mis-fit in this defense or overrated in general (DRob, Ellis, Vilma). Our OL blows except Mangold & he didn't exactly have his best day as a pro either. But we got beat worse by Jax and still won 10 games last season. So no matter how bad any 1 game looks, there's always hope.

124
Loved the article Tys and I have the same feelings as you. The comment that pisses me off the most is the Jets fans don't care and that we are Giants fans who couldn't get tickets, spare me. Go to a Giants game, you hear anyone making noise? No, because they're sleeping and or arn't into the game. For christ sakes, at the Jets / Giants Preseason I saw 2 Giants tailgating with a round table you see in a restaurant with a blue cloth over it with WINE GLASSES DRINKING WINE and eating cheese and crackers. Hardcore fans there.

It's really easy to knock any HC about scheme. Not buying it any more. Vilma not very big, and not very fast. The same is true of all our supposed front 7 star-Ellis, Thomas, Robertson. if it's one thing i would take back in my criticisms of Edwards, defense has less to do with schemes than it has to do with winning 1-on-1 battles. It's not the scheme, it's the players. And Vilma is simply not very big or strong. Looking back at FA, they really should have blown Adalius Thomas's doors off. he's freeaking huge. We don't have anyone like that. One bit of good news-Ogden figures to be out Sunday.
Green DNA
Nice article Tyson and very valid points. The issue that burns my a$$ is the constant disrepect that is heaped upon Jet fans. I would estimate that 99% of Jets fans hate the Giants with a passion and most of that comes from the second class citizen status that is constantly heaped upon the Jets. We know that the Jets have not been around as long as the vaunted Giants, but the vast majority of us have grown up as Jets fans, not as Giants fans that switched allegiance. Hell, I'm in my 40's (believe it or not ladies) and I have hated the Giants from day 1. Jets fans are viewed as abusive, which is another crock. Go to Cleveland, New England, Philadelphia, Oakland or many other NFL cities and tell me who is more abusive. The fact is that some litlle dip$hit that was always picked last when playing ball can now sit in front of a computer and influence public opinion because of the media job that they hold. Opinion becomes fact if it is repeated enough times to the undeducated. Most of the Jets fanbase is demographically similar to the Giants (just a lot younger), so drawing a distinction based upon education, income, occupation or social status is not just irresponsible, it is the height of stupidity. PS: Eff the Giants

124
What does that have to do with how big a fan they are? They say Jets fans do not care, Giants fans are just pathetic. They sit there in the parking lot like their higher class yuppies. If this is still ecurb, which I highly doubt it is, you have a stick up your arse my friend! Great game by your boy BTW. PS: Eff the Giants The Giants don't deserve to be the higher class citizens is what pisses fans off, including myself, the most. In the next 10 years, there will be more fans of the Jets than Giants, basically because the Giants fans will just all die.
drago
One bit of good news-Ogden figures to be out Sunday. The Ravens are a shell of their former selves. They have questions at QB, Mason and Clayton are pretty average anymore, Heap is still a stud, but past that, that is their offense. their defense is not nearly as good as it once was, we all know the usual suspects, but we will be able to move the ball against them. Call it a feeling or whatever, but we will be in that game to the end.

Bugg
The Jints/Jets thing-not to put a whammy on anyone or say we're all saints. There are some knuckleheads in our ranks.I also have friends and family who have worked and do work for the Mara's family's investment company, and the Maras are in fact decent folks. But- It was a Jints fan who drove drunk and killed a little girl after a Giants game. It was a Jints fan that almost killed a Chargers coach with a snowball. And I'm really tired of the 2 a-holes on the FAN who no longer go to games(one's in a studio in Queens every Sunday, the other is taking his sons to dance lessons in Connecticut rather than watching football)badmouthing Jets fans. Something HAS to be done. I'd suggest-BOYCOTT THE FAN.
Maxman
That Giants snowball game years ago was bad. But I don't think it is a Jets\Giants thing, it's a NY thing in the eyes of the media. The truth of it all is that every fanbase has its share of winners.
