Test for Mangini

What will he do with Kellen? shackle him or let him throw the ball? Odds are the Jets will struggle running the ball so they better let if fly...don't be a HERM Eric

I expect he'll let him run the offense. He just better watch out for ed Reed, who i suspect he'll get to meet up close and personal on Sunday. We'll see him going to mcCairens more, and i hope they use Barnes this week.

The Jets game at Baltimore when Bolly played was the most disgusting, depressing gameplan I ever witnessed from a pro team. it was an all time low in my book. Herm should have been fired the next day.

Mangini is not herm.

I agree about Barnes JC and also think we will see a ton of Sean Ryan as well. How is Clemens out of the shotgun? think he can run the hurry up offense? just some things to keep them off balance

If you remember there were problems snapping the ball in the shotgun in tc with the second unit. So, that was an issue that hopefully Mangold wont have.

KC will be slower at the LOS than CP, he takes longer to check off plays and call signals, the game hasnt slowed down for him yet. i wouldnt expect too much out of the hurry up, unless he happens to get on a hot roll.

he is also going to be a little slower going thru his progressions, which wont matter if the OL doesnt give him enough time. I hope he has the pocket presence to know when the pocket is about to collapse. He should do better rolling out if they need to buy him some more time. He'd be smart to stsy away from Reed's man/zone as much as possible.

What would take a lot of pressure off him is if they can get the running game going some.

Ed Reed looked a little banged up (seemed like he was nursing ribs) during the Cinci game. It didn't get much play because the cameras were watching Ray Lewis' arm.

I think our O has a good chance against these guys.

We are catching them at the best possible time, including the fact they had a tough division Monday night game, and one less day to prepare this week.

Reed looked okay when he ran the punt back for a 63 yard TD.

But just like it cant be expected that CP would win the game all by himself, we cant have those expectations of KC, either. It;s a slippery slope to go down that path.

The OL must block, the DL must play DL, the LBs must tackle, the DBs must cover, the RBs need to get going, the STs cant have breakdowns...

based on your thoughts I say screw it and run the wishbone with Brad :)

I swear sometimes I wonder what would happen in the NFL if a team tried it. After all, almost no one uses it in college nowadays either.

On Mangini, I think this IS his biggest test so far. Tailor the game to Kellen's strengths which is not the CHad offense. If I see a crippled QB like with Bolly I will be ill.

I still have some hope for Kellen (in time), but oh boy... he's going to wish he was somewhere else this sunday. Ravens D in his first real start? Ouchie!

With the way our O-line played, I just pray we won't have two QB's on the injury list after this game. Dear God... please don't make Tui our starter.

If the Jets can enjoy some success running the ball then I think they will run as much as possible. But if the ground attack isnt working then I think they'll let Clemens throw the ball. Mangini is pretty fearless and creative - he will do whatever he thinks will give the Jets their best chance to win. In fact he could go vertical if he thinks BAL isnt ready for it. I look forward to it.
