JETSFAN5180
Belichick Fined; Pats Lose Pick Bill Belichick was hit with a $500,000 fine Thursday night -- the maximum allowable by NFL by-laws -- for violating the league's policy on videotaping the Jets defensive signs Sunday. In addition, Roger Goodell notified the Patriots that they would forfeit a 2008 first-round draft choice if they reach the playoffs, or second- and third-round picks if they do not qualify for the playoffs. The club was also fined $250,000.

Iceman88
If this is the case all NFL fans should be calling the league office and make sure they know this isn't an acceptable punishment. There is no way Bellichik should not be suspended for blatantly violating rules for competitive advantages. Again Cowboys QB coach Wade Wilson got suspended 5 games for having HGH for medical issues, he wasn't gaining any advantage from it.

Barton
I dont understand why the penalty is any less if they miss the playoffs. DefenseWinsChampionships
So... YEa the Patriots will be fined 750,000 dollars.... Whats that? NOTHING in terms of the NFL... NOTHING AT ALL. And wow... They lose a 1st round draft pick... Big deal. So I guess BB can just cheat and then pay a fine for a win... Nice, real nice. If the NFL really wanted to send a message to the leauge they would have suspended BB for 4 games, gave the Jets the W and TOOK the draft pick away in the first round... Big deal, they still have like 1 or 2 first round picks in the first round... Big deal. Its just B.S in my eyes. To all the Red Sox/Pat fans who say that the Yankees "Buy" WS rings... Well guess what? Atleast we dont "Cheat" to win games and SB's. I guess there was a reason why T.Dungy made sure that there be no cameras on the field when they played last year in the playoffs. Thanks Roger Goodell.... Thanks for nothing

war ensemble
Would it be two craps or would you CHEAT and cut one in half? Why would anyone be cutting their craps in half? But, if you find that cheating, I guess I play by the rules. Also, this is BS. Beledick should be suspended for 4 or 8 games, and the 1st round pick should be given up no matter if they make the playoffs or not. Goodell comes down hard on the players, but with coaches they get this? I don't see how that can be justified.
