That's idiot shickelgruber for you. He punished him for losing the 2003 WS, and let him go, just like he punished the rest of the team by making them start the season in Japan the following year. We'd still be saying "1918" if we had Andy Pettitte in 2004.

124
Quite possibly! I am certain that Dandy Andy would not have lost one of those four games. Heck, he probably would've pitched in two of 'em to have two shots and would've definitely won one of them!

I agree with every word of your post except I'd throw in an "almost" in front of the "always". Game 6 of the 2001 WS...ugh

AFJF
2004. Andy, instead of Brown. Anytime. Even worse...we already had a guy on the roster who could have prevented it...if El Duque didn't have to throw four thousand pitches in his previous start he would have gone in game 7. It's alright though. Can't win em all.
penningtonfan82
Congrats to Andy, one hell of a Yankee! (I must admit, I watched his starts with the astros every season although I'm a huge Yankees fan, and always had a real good feeling he'd be back here sooner then later). Thor99
Is he in the discussion for the HOF? 200 wins and counting, 3.81 career ERA. 14 playoff wins, but only one All-Star appearance. 35 years old, does he have another 50 wins in him? If he sticks around another 3, IMO, he will make it to the HOF. That will happen if he doesn't retire early.
