JETSFAN5180
This situation is UNREAL and its worse each game. Are we animals that we cant even bring a garbage bag and not toss garbage all over the lot. The place is a disgrace like it or not.Beer bottles food leftovers you name it scattered all across the lots.Id like to know how many get a flat tire from all the broken glass. Its time for the MEADOWLANDS to do something about this problem once and for all.

LOL, I made a concerted effort to wrangle up all my party's trash into garbage bags, but if we are gonna talk about how dirty the fans are, lets also mention that the meadowlands really provides NOWHERE for tailgaters to dispose of their trash. Some garbage dumpsters placed around the lot would be great for keeping things nice and tidy, you can't keep something clean if you are not given a place to dispose of your trash. There are a few dumpsters, but they are all the way up in front of the stadium, pretty much useless for anyone parked in the lot.

joebabyny
Check out the litter in the background.... That really is not bad at all when you consider how many thousnads of people were there for up to 4 hours cooking, eating and drinking. Besides, what do you think a portion of that 15.00 is for, 15.00 times the thousands of spaces is a lot of scratch, there is more then enough money for the cleaning crew. joebabyny
So that makes it okay to act like animals? It's disgusting, plain and simple. Dude, what do you expect a place that holds 80,000 people for up to 4 hours of eating/drinking/cooking but with NO facilities for waste disposal to look like at the end of the day? Kind of hard to toss out your garbage when there is nowhere to put it. Keep in mind also, the VAST majority of people do put there garbage in neat piles bwtween the cars since there are no dumpsters, but when it comes time to leave all those piles get trampled on and driven over and it looks like hell as the lot empties out. Take a walk around the lot 15 minutes after kickoff, it doesn't usuually look too bad, but wait until all the people and cars start mobilizing at the end of the game. What can the fans do? joiseyjet
There are no dumpsters because people were dumping hot coals in them and setting them on fire. When i`ve gone to the JETS game in San Diego multiple times I noticed there way of taking care of the hot coles is by each lightpole stand they have these concreate trash cans that are stricktly marked for dumping hot coles into ,now I believe the meadowlands has something like this but theres only like 1 in each lot ,bottom line make it convienent for people and they`ll dispose of their garbage properly ,make them walk halfway across the lot to throw the stuff away & they take the ,Screw them i`m paying $15 to park in this lot let them clean it up.... faba
There will always be litter with all the tailgating going on all day long. The thing that annoys me is the bottles that are left out in the lot that can flatten your tires if you run over them.
Garb
More barrells will help that problem. People, you should stop your whining. Really. I pay $40 to park at Gillette - Kraft must want to work his way up the Forbes most rich list - and it literally takes me an hour and a half to just get out of the parking lot. It takes me about an 45 minutes to an hour to the interstate. So, Foxboro - which is only 35 minutes away from me on a normal day - is 2+ hours on a game day. Trust me when I tell you this, the Meadowlands has it DOWN when it comes to their parking situation. Piece of cake.
124
So that makes it okay to act like animals? It's disgusting, plain and simple. Animals? Riiiight. So what do you expect from 70-80,000 drunk angry Jets fans who most are tailgating for at least 3 hours before the game? Lets be like Giants fans and break out the dinner tables and have cheese & crackers with some wine shall we? They charge $15 for us to park, we're Jets fans and frankly, in all NFL stadiums, the parking lots are going to be trashed. Want to keep charging more? Fine, then we will trash it more. Thats how its been since I've been going to games since 1995.
BaumerJet
There are no dumpsters because people were dumping hot coals in them and setting them on fire. SteveO - that is true but this year they have added dumpsters just for Hot Coals. The problem is they have limited the amount of dumpsters to areas within 100 feet of the stadium. They need to place 2 dumpsters within every 4 causeways - something they will not do because of the limitations of parking space until the new stadium is completed. If you park at the arena, the dumpsters are set up correctly. Therefore, as long as we tailgate during construction near the stadium, we will have no choice but to leave the garbage in bags near our parking areas. Still, I agree with you that if you are going to tailgate, stop being such a pig & put your trash in garbage bags!

Don't want to put it in your car for fear of smelly animal fat remnants? Then throw the bag under your car, and toss it into your car for the ride home. Then toss the bag in your personal garbage can when you get home. They're simple concepts really.

Why should I put bags of garbage in my car for an hour and a half because the meadowlands refused to put dumpsters out in the lot for people to use? That is absurd. IF macdonalds decides to do away with trash bins in their places of business should i take my garbage with me from there and throw it out at home? I put my stuff in garbage bags, i do my part, if the stadium doesn't want to do their part by providing somewhere to toss litter, then they can deduct x amount of dollars from my parking payment for a cleaning crew after I am gone to pick up my garbage bags. Bugg
It wouldn't cost much of the $15 fees to have a mess of dumpsters and reycling bins alla round, with signs telling you to clean it up and bring bags for such purpose. No on will say it out loud, but I suspect part of the reason they allow the mess is to discourage tailgating and the awful mess once the new stadium is built. And force us all into the giant overpriced, overcrowded anticeptic TGIF/Buffalo Wild Wings/ESPN ZOne/Applebee's to bleed us all white. It makes the jets, Giants and NJSEA mad that they don't get a piee of the soda, beer, food and stuff we bring. They will stop at nothing to get some. Allowing the lot to turn into a sty after every game will be another arrow in their quiver to progress, or more accurately, profit.

When the Linc opened up down here in Philly, they created a ban that you could not bring any food in. Now exceptions. They claimed that it was for "security" reasons. They raised such a fuss, that they lifted the ban and hey now have a separate entrance for food to be "scanned". yeah, they will look to dig their claws in you whatever way they can. First, you will probably have PSL's - on top of the increase parking fees. A large beer will cost you $10.00 - a slice of Dominos - $4.50 and a medium dunkin donuts coffee - $4.00. I know this because I get financially raped every time I go to Gillette to see the Pats.

flgreen
I don't really care as I only get to go to 1 game a year, but from a business standpoint one of two things, or perhaps both, will come out of this. 1) tailgating will be banned. Using trash, and drunken behavior as an excuse. Then the Jets get to sell you all the booze you can drink at a very high price. and or 2) parking permits go up to $40 to cover the expense of clean up.
