ECURB
Seriously though, you need to pay every month for your Iphone... you dont for an MP3 player
joebabyny
Worth the money? It's an iPhone without the phone. it pretty much is the same as the iphone without the phone. Now, that means other then phone you also miss out on the edge data network for hopping on the internet. what you DO have though is the same great browser and wifi, so if there is a wifi access point you can get on the internet and surf. This is pretty good as wifi spots can be plentiful. And being that it has a full on browser, you can get into those pay to play wifi networks like they have at hotels and airports. I would say the better move is just go for the phone now that they are 400, but if you are tied to a contract or just refuse to go with att(which is much better then back in the cingular days) it is a great compromise. It is the first true mp3 player to have wifi and a real browser to get on the internet, extending its use greatly. But having the edge data network while slow it is still awesome to have the internet 24/7 in your pocket. Oh, also, the touch does not have email, duh. So either is great and worth the money in my opinion, if i were going touch it would be the biggest model that i would buy.
joebabyny
Seriously though, you need to pay every month for your Iphone... you dont for an MP3 player that arguement is only valid if you do not otherwise own a phone. I always paid about the same for my cell, so that was not an issue. Actually, Up until 7 months ago i had my cell AND a blackberry, because i liked the blackberry with the full keyboard for email but did not like to talk on it and didn't like having it in my pocket when i was out getting trashed, so i had to have a phone and blackberry which combined for a lot more then my iphone plan. Now I have my phone, email client, mp3 player, and also the new functionality of portable internet browser which makes carrying a laptop unneeded 80% of the time all in one little cool-ass device. MrsTaborJet
Help! Just got my new iPod Touch and not all my playlists synced up... many songs missing off many of my playlists. Hmm. Any idea how to fix that? I'll try another sync and see if that does the trick. This thing is awesome, went for the 16GB!! Tabor is out now getting his own. How many iPods, cameras, Playstations does one friggin' household need?!!!

joebabyny
BZ & joebaby...any cool iPhone/iTouch websites? Will iPhone apps be compatible with the iTouch? I assume the web apps for iphone will work just the same for the touch. check out mockdock.com, its a website that looks like the touch home screen where you can put icons of all these different little iphone web apps. Sperm Edwards
So other than the "phone" part, what's on an iphone that's not on the itouch? What is "edge network"? Does its absence mean I cannot access the internet except for wifi hot spots? That would suck & make it useless in many places. I really just want the browser; don't even care about HD-saved music/video playback that much. What email is on iphone that isn't on itouch? Is it like a mini apple version of apple's mail program (I don't know its name, but like the MS equivalent of OE or thunderbird)?
