30 game hitting streak. Solo HR, back to back to Beltran's two run shot. 3-0 mets.

Let's Go Mets

Because of his age I questioned it when the Mets picked up Alou during the off season. I stand corrected. He's been great. Leads by example as a vet should.

this bullpen continues to just be gasoline on the fire...disgusting!

I just can't belive it . We has a great break in the schedule as well facing the Nats and Marlins down the stretch and finishing at home. We're doing a great job of pissing it all away.

And you call me a jinx?

Whatever:shutit:

Mmmmm, I dont recall ever saying that, but whatever.

I dont buy into message board jinxes, tick tick crap, and that kind of stuff.

I do buy into good pitching, winning in the trenches, and putting the ball in the basket as the most likely reasons to win games in baseball, football and hoops, respectively.

And the Mets' pitching has been atrocious.

I hate the freaking red SOx. But I have a soft spot for the Mets; famliy and firends root for them, though damned if I know why. Still in 1986 rooting for them over the dirty filthy Sawx wasn't even a decision.I've always looked at the Mets like silly relatives.

And trading Bannister was A1 stupidity.

I dunno-ESPN has him ranked as #20 starter in all of the AL, with a crappy team, with an under 4 ERA and a winning record. They couldn't use 165 innings from an above average starter facing one less real batter in the NL?

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/profile?playerId=6474 He's statistcially better than any starter ont he Mets, like John Maine-

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/profile?playerId=6041 But I guess Amborix Burgos was so important to get for Los Mets(which I also freaking hate; thet yankees have as many Lantino players, and it's a big so what; the Met rub your nose in it). They have a bullpen that cannot get anyone out, and those 165 innings would have been of some help.

Brian Bannister is not the root for Met problems, and I understand and agree with the reasons for trading him.

The construction of the pitching staff is poor, with so many veterans, they just killed this bullpen. You can't expect to hold a staff, hoping that your starter goes 5 and feeling lucky when he goes 6.

Hell no to Tom Glavine for another season. Same thing for Duque.

the Twilight ZOne. This is beyond bizzare.

Can ANYONE get an out? How about 3?

Omar's brilliant! They didn't need Brian Bannister.

How's Mr. Bannister faired of late when we would have needed him most?

Brian Bannister was pulled after giving up five runs in two-thirds of an inning Tuesday versus the White Sox.

It seems like only a week ago that Bannister was a strong Rookie of the Year contender. Wait, that was a week ago. He also gave up six runs in five innings against the White Sox on Wednesday, and he's winless in his last four starts. The Royals will go with Jorge De La Rosa on Sunday, so Bannister finishes 12-9 with a 3.87 ERA. That he struck out only 73 in 165 innings suggests that he might be in for a rough sophomore campaign.

Last year it was Delgado wouldn't hit in the post season----he did.

This years it's Bannister was a mistake---there was no spot for him and I take my chances on a hard throwing young reliever again if I had a do over.
