is fast approaching so lets start the hype. My favorite holiday personally. i like to host parties with crazy games and elaborate decor. i have done a major jiggy jam since college days and i hate miami cause i dont know enough people here to have a decent affair. this year im going up to Screamfest '07 in Orlando on the 19th to show off my horror comic so i have that to look forward to. I'll prolly stay in on the 31st and watch horror movies like last year. i cant stand going out to clubs traffic is....murder! :character42:

Halloween is my very favorite. It's so much fun, and it's also my favorite time of year. I love all the ghosts and goblins, creepy crawlies, old horror movie classics, carving pumpkins, apple cider, apple pie, the foliage, the whole deal. Best thing ever.

Hehe.

So, when is the party??? I'm getting psyched for Halloween now!

I'm not big into Halloween. I havn't gone trick or treating in 7 years (I was 12 then), and I still know people my age or older who do which is kind of, no, it just is very weird.

I don't understand the big hoopla about it unless you're into witches, ghosts, etc. Christmas still is the best thing to me. Cold, Snow sometimes, Presents, Tree, Decorations top all and there just some seems to be joy all around, unlike Halloween.

That's sweet 124, but you can have both. I don't think adult trick-or-treating makes much sense myself, very weird in your late teens ... but I remember renting awesome costumes and hitting the clubs at that time. ...Now that was FUN! I was Little Red Riding Hood once... the naughty version... if I can find the pic I'll post it. With my big early-90's hair. ha ha.

Love X-mas though. That's a family holiday... Halloween is just different. evilgrin0017.gif You can drink, WTF.

Wait, you are 19? Huh?!!!

Halloween is definately my favorite holiday. So far Grant has decided that he wants to be Link from Legen of Zelda. That is subject to change as usual though. I'm pushing to dress Sawyer up as Bamm Bamm. He's a dead ringer. The weekend before we're doing a hayrack ride for all of the kids and some of the adults. This will be my second year with the guys in charge of doing all of the scaring. One of the guys is planning on giving me a chainsaw this year. Without the chain of course.

Halloween is so different here in New Jersey- when I lived in Staten Island lots of kids came to the house trick or treating- where I live now hardly any kids come. I guess because we are the commuter state.

Yeah that is weird that no kids want to come to your house for free candy. I live in the next town over and every house is swarmed with kids. I wouldn't take it personally though. I am sure it has nothing to do with you.

I like Thanksgiving the best, I love food. Family, football and food. Favorite holiday hands down. Halloween candy is good too, but my daughters dont share the wealth like they did when they were 5.

:) I'm with you there. I love Thanksgiving. Halloween, eh, but my husband and children love it so I just smile and bear with it.

It's funny for me. I grew up in one of the last true farming areas in a town called Latham, NY. Needless to say, we didn't get a lot of trick-or-treaters. There were also very few houses for us to walk to to treak-or-treat as well. Usually, I would go to a friends neighborhood if I wanted to get some loot. :)

Where I live now, we get hundreds of trick-or-treaters. I didn't mind it so much up until a few years ago, because a locally owned store would throw a party. The whole neighboorhood would meet there from 7:00-9:00. The fire department would come and light it up. We had disc jockeys and costume judging contests with prizes, and we would all mingle while enjoying cider, hot chocolate and home-made doughnuts.

They have now retired though, and since there are no more parties my doorbell rings non-stop from 5-9pm. I must go through close to $80 in candy.

It must be the picture I have hanging of you in the doorway keeping them away.

Does anyone remember mischief night? Or was that just a Jersey thing?

Anywho, I love carving pumpkins. The rest I could take or leave.

It's still a big problem in Detroit. But they call it Devil's Night here. It's been less and less of an issue the last few years as the city's really stepped up in policing that kind of stuff the day before Halloween. Or it might just be that there isn't much else in Detroit that hasn't been either vandalized or burned to the ground anyway.

Cobraverde, do you have anymore info on that horror comic you wrote? I would be interested in seeing something about it.

Halloween is great...I love horror flicks anyway, and this time of year Walmart has the classics on dvd for $5 each.

I am going to try to hit Horrorfest 07 this year (the film event they started off last year).

Pretty good stuff, Cobraverde.

So you do all the work on these? What are you in charge of?

Yeah i do it all. Pencil & Ink on comic boards then colored on Photoshop and Flash. The stories are original or adapted. I built and maintain the site. find articles for NOTD and am every character in the Zombie Blog. Its a bit overwhelming sometimes cause i also have another webcomic i'm trying to push (http://www.friendsinsquareplaces.com) and devoting time to each gets a little hectic. I haven't been updating lately cause i've been trying to finish issue #3 before the horror convention but i dont think i'll have it all done by then : /

I love halloween. Every year me and a few friends do a halloween house in my garage. We really build it up too. This year alot of my friends have moved away to different colleges, so I might not do it this year.

Anyone ever go to those hollowscreen scary nights at busch gardens, or the one at disney world? I really want to go to one of those. I heard you stay in the hotel there, and it can be pretty scary.

Halloween Horror Nights is a bit weak if you go on a day thats packed. Reason being is the haunted house turn into one big wait in line. Imagine waiting in line as your surrounding slowly change to the theme of the haunted house your in. thats basically what happens. the only good thing is walking around watching the chainsaw dudes scare people and buying alchohol while waiting in line. that at least makes it pleasurable. Oh and HHN is only worth it if you go with hottie to cling on to.:Typotux:

So for one night there's in no trouble in Detroit. Hey, it's a start.
