Jet Moses
and the phillies have to lose (whistles) BYE BYE MR.METSCHANCES OF WINNING THE SERIES GOODBYE As long as the Mets win today, the worst case scenario is having to play a tiebreaker with the Phil's. So they do control their own destiny at this point.

Let the Mets piss away their bullpens in the next two days. They finally got some new arms. I guess the Mota/Sosa thing wasn't working out. Willis is capable of throwing a gem but overall he has sucked this year with a 7.36 ERA against us.

So the Mets would play the Phils, and the winner gets 1st place in the NL East. The loser though, gets the winner of the Padres/Rockies game. The WC playoff would then be played on Tuesday. Small chance, but it could happen. Regardless, the Mets have basically blown a 7 game lead with 17 to play, some 3 weeks ago. Not a good way to enter the post-season, if there is one, for the Mets. mbn007
Tell that to the 06 Tigers or 05 WSox. Both those teams had a solid pen, Mets do not. Both those teams had solid starting pitching; Mets don't look that way, Maine not-with-standing.

Bugg
giving Reyes a hard time for not running out of the box yesterday. Howie Rose was rightly all over him, and I understand Darling and Hemandez and Cohen were too. One thing about Jeter and A-rod-that NEVER HAPPENS I admit I'm a Yankee fan, and I like the YES crew. The radio is a different story-Suzyn Waldman-uh... But the Mets have some very good announcers.
