Have the Mets fired Willie, yet?

I don't think it works that way Bob. :P

Why not? It's not like the player roster. If he's available, give him #30 and sit him next to Joe.

Of course, the Mets would be fools to fire him. I don't think they will.

I don't think Willie is to blame here. He wasn't filling up Wagner's arm with gasoline before every appearance, then lighting a match on the mound.

I think he'll take the fall. The bullpen, IMHO ,was over used and miss used. We DID need another quality starter who could go more than 5 innings . That's Omar's fault but Willie could have somehow lit a friggin fire under those guys the last 2 weeks. Christ show some emotion !! That's another reason why I think he'll take the fall. Maybe Omar too.

Omar cannot fire himself, nor look in the mirror. Instead of getting some decent pitching, easier to get a full spirng of BS magazine happy horsespit articles about what great guy he is, and shoving that "Los Mets" crap down your throat.

In all honestly I don't think it would have made a difference.

If Willie goes off on a Pinella like tirade the only signal that shows to the players is that Willie is panicking, and it only would serve to make them even more tighter than they already were.

Willie may have read them the riot act in clubhouse at one point during this but we will never know.

I think that is something we have ALL learned from watching Torre for the past 12 years. His demeanor on the field never changes. Even when things are going wretchedly wrong it stays the same.

It drives us all nuts. That is the way they are though.
