Gainzo
The Sox have announced their rotation for the ALDS. Game 1: Beckett Game 2: Matsuzaka Game 3: Schilling Wakefield will be in the bullpen. Interesting to see Dice-K starting game 2.
mbn007
We will see what Schilling (and Clemens for the Yankees) have left, after a long season, at their ages.
Kidhuman
Well Clemens hasnt pitched down the stretch, so he could be rested. Maybe Schill will slice his other ankle open in hopes to duplicate some playoff magic.
PFSIKH
We will see what Schilling (and Clemens for the Yankees) have left, after a long season, at their ages. Do not forget, a benefit of the Sox lead is they let Schilling and Manny take extra time to get healthy. Both were supposed to be down for two weeks and ended up being gone for a month+ and 24 games. It might have been a worse injury, but my guess is they let them take their time. Schilling should not have a tired arm like Dice-K and Okijima. JonEJet
Benefit of the Sawx lead? They were playing their arses off just to hold on to the 14.5 game lead
PFSIKH
Benefit of the Sawx lead? They were playing their arses off just to hold on to the 14.5 game lead Yup. Schilling had tendinitis in his shoulder and missed 6 weeks. Manny strained his oblique and missed 24 games. They were rested. Especially, Schilling. Gainzo
Benefit of the Sawx lead? They were playing their arses off just to hold on to the 14.5 game lead Whatever makes you feel better. The Sox won the AL East on Friday when the Yankees blew a 9-6 lead in the bottom of the 9th against the Orioles.
JonEJet
Yeah But they had to play it out the entire month May the better team win, and I think we all know who that is
anskyruben
If you still don't know which one of the two teams is better right now, just check the results of the last few games we played against each other. Case closed. Gainzo, you seem to have a great memory about blown leads.....how did that last sunday night game on ESPN go for the Red Sux ? Oritz is a great hitter, but if you take Ramirez out or he's hurt, Oritz can be pitched to and around.

The Sox line-up is feast or famine with everyone available, if Manny is gone.....yikes.

Thor99
Wakefield is out the first round. Back problems apparently. Strangely, Mirabelli and Kevin Cash made the PS roster. With no Wake, why in the world would they need both of these scrubs?
CrazyCarl40
Wakefield is out the first round. We'll only need the 3-man rotation and we have Lester just in case.

haggis
Beckett will be the deciding factor in the Sox rotation Wrong. It is the man from the rising sun. I'm not too worried about Beckett or Schilling (both proven October players). Dice-K, though, is a rook in this situation.

Garb
I have a feeling that Garb is a Yankee fan. ....answer me this: as a card carrying member of RSN, are you the least bit embarassed by the "rally" in Boston on Monday? Yah, I know you don't live here - but that was beyond pathetic. Heads-up for those of you interested in this sort of thing: Jerry Remy will be throwing out the first pitch and the Standells - an L.A. Band - will sing the National Anthem after performing the Red Sox Anthem "Dirty Water." Now, being a great beleiver in Karma - I find it funny that the "Hollywood Three" (Lyin' Larry, Stick figure Henry and Homo Werner) have an L.A. Band playing the Boston Theme song before a game pitting L.A. against Boston. Yah, I know, that's reaching a bit....

Nope...they will have A)gotten lucky, B)Cheated, or C)Had someone cheat for them
haggis
Beckett looked okay tonight. Rally: who cares? Garb, this **** was done in just about every town. Damn you really are getting bitter towards the Sox. The owners? I follow the Sox for the men wearing the jerseys and the managers in the dugout. I could care less what band played for the rally. Good gravy.

Good gravy. LOVE the extra "edit." Seriously, that was pretty good. I go overboard....I know. I just see Larry Lucchino's face and I get this over-whelming desire to punch it...kind of. That said, I think rally's are DUMB unless it's AFTER YOU WIN A CHAMPIONSHIP. It's so lame. As a Bostonian, it embarrasses me.

And Lucchino does have a slapable face. But then I think so does Belichick!
