joebabyny
Hey, for those who are into or hate apple, check this blog out. The guy has actually come clean but for a while the computer industry was turned upside down with everyone trying to figure out who was behind it, pretty funny stuff, finally he was exposed as Daniel Lyons, senior editor of forbes. I link to this little verizon iphone killer snippet, but check out the rest of the site, good stuff there http://fakesteve.blogspot.com/2007/05/verizons-iphone-killer.html

BwanaZulia
5 years later I am still waiting for the iPod killer. If history is anything it will tell us that the iPhone killer is a long way away.. Besides, remember you have to have an iTunes killer at the exact same time. BZ I use my iPod for MP3's..I wouldn't use a phone for that. 6,000+ songs wont fit on a phone. The Voyager is a good look..and from my experience better than the iPhone. anskyruben
You would have to being on AT&T. Nope. I opted out of my Nextel contract to join Att . If there were a better option I would pay the fee and leave Att too. There isn't. These new phones are trying to be, what the iPhone already is. anskyruben
They are pretty good here in San Diego. The problem became their customer service. Once Sprint jumped in, it became a nightmare. I had enough of them and paid to get out.

I'm a Mac guy too...Mac computers..iPods..etc. well, if you think of the iphone as an ipod that is ALSO a full featured phone, then it shoots your theory down pretty hard. What i think is exciting is that while everyone scrambles to make their "iphone killer" that will have all the functions, usability, and form factor of the iphone, apple is and has been working on the only legit iphone killer, that is the iphone II. One of tghe apple execs quoted Wayne Gretzky the other week, " you skate to where the puck is going to be."

anskyruben
FYI, I dabbled with people's Iphones for a month or so before I went and bought one. I am in the mechanical engineering field so it really has done wonders for us. I laugh at some of you that are looking for an Iphone killer. That in itself is hilarious. The Iphone has set a new standard. People that bash it, usually can't afford it.
K2C
ok, so what experience have you had with the iphone that made you say the voyager was better? I think the fact that I started this thread months ago about rumored phones from LG, then decided to post in it that I got one instead of making a new thread might be misleading. I think the iPhone is great. I do however like the Voyager better for the sheer fact that it's a phone first. No bells and whistles (itunes, youtube, etc.) I have a computer and an iPod for that stuff. Being a college student..I've got a couple of friends with an iPhone..and my boss has one. I've played with them..thought they had a cool interface, I like the fact that you can view the voicemails in advance, etc. But for the amount of text messages I receive and subsequently have to dish out a day..the keyboard on the Voyager is uber useful and convenient. I also like the speakers built in to it. The customization is fun...I have hacked a way to getting my own ringtones on the phone...etc. I like the picture slideshows as well. So while people like asdrukkyen (too lazy to see how your name is spelled dude) feel it may be a money issue..I'll be happy to know I only paid $299 for a phone that does essentially the same things..but has a keyboard and 2 speakers (for those odd days that I WILL need to use the MP3 player on the phone). Plus..having a Mac computer and many iPods I can purely state from experience that Apple products die at some point. My experience with LG throughout the years has been different. But seriously, if you played with a friend's iphone for a bit you will kick yourself in the @ss, especially since you already own a mac.
rillo
LOL at ignorant people that havent even lifted a Voyager yet. A friend of mine has the Voyager....I messed with it alil, but its still comes up short to the iPhone IMO. iPhone does have some short comings, but the 3rd party/homebrew software takes care of that. Sansa? Link please. The iPhone is almost everything I ever wanted in a PDA. We just need third party apps and it will be a 100% winner. Sure, 16GB or 32GB would be great, but with some good playlists on iTunes you can manage all the content. BZ
