jojodogs
When we start chad this week, do you really think that thats the best option for him. With the ankle not healed, and a pocket qb to begin with he might get seriously injured against this pass rush.

I dont think Penny will fair well with this O-line, he probably isnt mobile enough to survive. I dont know if Clemens is mobile enough to survive, I just dont want to see Tui finishing this game. Barnes should be active for this game IMO, if hes healthy enough to help out he needs to be out there.
Irish Jet
He isnt as in as bad shape as you gys mat think he'll be. Here's why: The Eagles were trying long developing plays (Downfield passes) for the majority meaning it was taking too llong for the WRs to get open. As we all know Chads strentgh is the short passing game (or as the haters call it 'dink and dunk').These passes may be our best chance of doing anything as they can at least decrease the pressure on the O-line on blocking for 5 secs each snap. Also with Westbrook out The Giants paid absolutely no respect at all to Buckhalter and the Eagles running attack and were playing McNabb all the way, this showed by allowing a below average running back 107 yds and a 5yd average, as bad as our running game may be there is no way the Giants will have such a pass defence mentality vs us, if they do I expect Jones and Leon to have big big games. Chad will get sacked a few times, my guess is 2 or 3. Our pass protection has improved since week 1.

But me being a clemens supporter as you know do you think chad will spread out the field, and make the defense respect the deep pass. Im not being a smart ass im just saying with a 3.5 spread on the game i gotta bet this one

Thats why i feel Chad can get some opppurtunities down the field which he can (yes he can) capitalise on. I have no problem with Chad dinking and dunking all day if it works, which I think it may along with at least a few shots down the field.

I don't care if he dinks and dunks down the field all day either as long as it ends up in a TD or FG and not in an interception.
Mavrik
im more concerned with the arm that's throwing passes (or should i say "lobbing") rather than the O-line in front of it.
GandWFan
My prediction.... Chad will play like he plays against every team with a strong pass rush. Chad "deer in the headlights" Pennington will look lost, get happy feet, and hold the ball too long. If the offense scores at all, it will be a long run by one of our playmakers. On defense, they will run it down our throats, and there will be nothing we can do about it. If they throw 10 passes the entire game, it will be allot. It's going to be a long day.... I hope no one gets seriously hurt. My $0.02.

Sperm Edwards
Im not sure our O-line is improved enough yet to handle what the NYG defense will be bringing, yeah Justice was a rookie but Brick is just a soph. Justice & D'Brick were both drafted last year. Most internet draft boards (for what they're worth) had Justice going at round #10-12. He was considered a top LT prospect. Like many others, he dropped lower than expected, to #39 overall. I don't believe he saw any meaningful game action last year or in the first 3 games in '07. You guys BLAST Chad for the dumpoffs. Then give him none of the credit for not getting sacked. All you write is how you want him to throw the ball down the field. Yet they set the offense up to be a short passing attack in large part because of protection issues.

C'mon, every one of those dumpoffs is not a quick timing pattern. He dumps off whether he's pressed for time or not. I don't buy that such a high %age of the occasions a deeper pass is called, and he has time to throw, that neither Coles NOR Cotchery are capable of getting open. I think they're open, but not open enough for Chad to float it out there. This is precisely where an on-a-rope throw makes a strong-armed QB more dangerous & more difficult to gameplan against. I don't think he's some villain or anything. He's only as good as he is. I don't believe his shortcomings are from a lack of effort.
#27TheDominator
They have time to throw downfield? Clemens didn't. I guess they don't rush Chad because he's "among the least mobile qb I've ever seen' or whatever other nonsense I've read on here. Max is right. The dumpoffs are not only because of protection issues, but you should give the guy some credit for not being sacked, even if you don't like the method he uses.
