atlantajetsfan
I think we are in trouble....we have a number of problems...I hope I am wrong... Jets are done. I agree with this sports writer. There is no sense of urgency with this team, our defense looks like crap, and we were pretty lucky to win the Miami game. We might turn things around and start beating teams that we should beat, but we will lose against the tougher teams and not make the playoffs. Its sad, but I can't see any other finish for this team. It is so dissapointing. Every year you hope we can build on the prior year...but then the same ole Jets kick in My neighbor doesn't even get upset when the Jets lose anymore...he has been a fan for so many years now he just accepts losing. In the beginning of the year, I told him how excited I was about this season...he promised we would fall short again...and he was right.

Try not to be so negative- if the US can beat Russia in hockey we can win a Super Bowl in our lifetime.
nugentfan1
i think this team could still have a chance. they just need to fix ALL of their problems. we could be worse than 1-3. if the jets arent 4-4 or better by mid season then ill worry. penningtonfan82
I think the Giants getting all the praise in the world may work in our favor, all the focus on Mangini and Pennington's arm strength, and the problems with the lines, I think that the Jets are gonna come out strong in this game and I can see them pulling out a win here. If they do, we are far from dead then, we can get right back in it with a win in week 6, that's if the Jets win this weekend.

Jetsfan80
We're not dead. All we need are upgrades guard, right tackle, defensive coordinator, nose tackle, inside linebacker, # 2 cornerback, # 3 wide receiver, fullback, nickle cornerback, and special teams tackling specialist. Other than that, we're fine.

If the Jets are 3-5 at the mid-point, it will be a miracle. Probably 2-6, but at this point, I don't know who we would beat. 1=5 is a distinct possibility. lancemehl
I think you are forgetting who we have on the sidelines, gentleman. The Legendary Eric "The Genius" Mangeni. This guy played second string OG for NorthWestSouth Lake H.S. He stood next to Bill Bellichek while Tom Brady and a 3-4 with BIG guys won Super Bowls. So, have no fear. I think he knows what he's doing, OK. And need I remind you that our DC is only a puppet so don't worry, The "Genius" is running that and may I go further by saying that our OC's Father IS a one, Martin Schottenheiner, you know, only the poster ICON for playoff collapse in sports and Father of the "Boring" Offense. Chill trust Mangini, he's been around, I mean, he was a 13 year old when Bill P won his first one in 86, and 18 in 91, this guy's been around. I trust him. I don't tottally blame Mangini, he grew up with Bill Parcells and Bill Belichek. The Greatest Coach Ever and the Most Brilliant Defensive mind in the game. OF COURSE HE'S GOING TO TRY TO EMULATE THEM. Only problem: LT,Carl Banks,Harry Carson, and Pepper Johnson,Gary Reasons (HOF LB'ers) + Leonard Marshall on the line made Bill's Jints famous, and we all know the Pats roster that made Bellicheck a genius. We have DRob.

serphnx
If Chad goes out there and fails to score a point in the first quarter, then that should be it for him, Clemens needs to be put in and we just need to start hoping he learns real fast. What we can't do is have another "great" 2 TD performance by Chad, with 30 completions for less than 300 yards. Then again it's possible the entire team fails to show up again and that won't even matter. How pathetic.
