Seriously, in my first year in the Jets franchise I traded PK for a 3rd and a 4th, moved Adrian Jones to Guard (he's still an 80), signed Antonio Bryant as a 3rd WR and then drafted a DE who is a 76 overall and a RT who is a 78....

Oh, and Chad Pennington is an 86 in the 'rocket arm' category.

I just started a new JETS franchise .... I always sign Antonio Bryant... he is the best FA WR in year 1... I always sign a good guard as well... (Kendall is not on the JETS in my game, I guess because of roster updates through the PS3)

I traded Bryon Thomas and JMAC for a 2nd and 3rd round pick... signed Lavar Arrington to fill in Thomas's spot... (Arrington wound up being a beast lol)

I won a superbowl year one...

Then in the offseason I traded Pennington, T Jones, and Barret for the #1 overall pick and that teams 3rd rounder as well...

So I have...

1st overall pick and another 1st round pick

2 - 2nd round picks

3 - 3rd round picks

I will also be trading my 1st rounder, Coles and maybe a 3rd rounder if needed to the Lions for Calvin Johnson...

I will use the #1 overall pick on a QB...

So...

QB

- #1 Draft pick

- Clemens

- Derek Anderson

RB

- Leon

- Danny Ware

- 2nd round pick

WR

- Calvin Johnson

- Cotchery

- Antonio Bryant

- 2nd round pick

- Stuckey

- Smith

Pretty good Ecurb...

I went 9-7 and finished 2nd my 1st year.

I am currently 6-3 and in 1st my 2nd year.

Right now LWash is only 3 points below TJ and has more icons...

So I'm probably going to package Jones and Pennington for a good young QB and a 2nd/3rd rounder.

In my 1st year I also traded JMac and Drob for a 330lb, 82 overall DT (forget the name) and a 5th rounder, which I traded away with my 1st rounder to get the DE I wanted.

I always like to draft a QB in the top 3...

I look for a big strong fast QB... Mcnabb type... perfect for Madden

I have too many other needs to draft a QB...

I need help at OLB, DE, FB, TE, and CB (Revis is my #1, Dyson is getting older and is only an 83, and my next best CB - Barrett and Miller both had contracts expired-is a rookie 72 overall. )

I'm probably going to package Barton and Dyson for a good CB if I cant pick up one in the draft.

So, I like the idea of trading for a QB more then drafting one...

I like a challenge in Madden. In 06, in two separate franchises, I brought Ricky Ray and Kliff Kingsbury into 92 and 89 QBs, and only playing key divisional games. In 07, I traded for Omar Jacobs a few years in for some scrub draft pick I had, and groomed him into a 88 QB, but he never played well in simulated games, so I drafted Matt Garcia from imported drafts from NCAA, and he oddly had an afro.

One time as the Raiders (I don't know why I played a franchise as them), I scored Vilma, Miller (who becomes good in game) and Rhodes for Moss, LaMont :), and my 2nd and 3rd rounders(two trades). I was proud. I won the Championship next year, only playing key matchups and the AFC Champ and SB, because in the draft, I scored Calvin Johnson in the 1st round, got Michael Bush round two after I traded crappy Michael Huff away and got a 2nd and 4th rounder and some linebacker with good numbers, but a crappy AWR. I then drafted Kevin Kolb and the rest was history.

I used to always take over the Bengals, trade all their players, and get 10 1st rounders. Then after 4-5 years I had the awesomest team ever created. I once drafted a 99 speed, 99 power, 92 accuracy quarterback out of the draft. I never use the NCAA draft because they make the top players too good. I never bought this madden though, so I haven't played it in a while.

(How many times did I just start a sentence with "I"?)

I'm pretty good at drafting as well.

Drafting is so key in Franchise mode...you can lock up 3/4 (and if youre lucky 1-2 80+) 72+ players that usually improve a good amount) for a good 5 years or so at a rather cheap price

Anyway, I used to do two franchises when I was younger, 1 as the Jets and 1 as a crappy team like the Cards, Raiders, or Chargers (02/03 seasons) and take them to the SB like 5 times in 10 years. Now that I can only play like 2-3 hours on a regular week I'm down to just the Jets.

Damn EC you must never draft...

I need to get rid of Ellis before its too late....

Im thinking him and Pennington for a good pass rushing DE or OLB...

I like building through the draft...

It also helps that i know how to draft well.

I dont have the time to go searching for any possible trade I can make...

Just toinight I was bored so I really focused in the offseason and got some good players like Levi Brown and my rookie QB in.

I also dumped Hicks and Jones this offseason for a 3rd and 5th rounder and a 79 overall 2nd year CB...

Im probably going to end up trading Ellis and Penny before the season starts also in favor of a better DE.

I let other teams find the hidden gems... then I trade for them... right before they break out and while they are still on their rookie contract...

I can find em in the draft... but history shows I win easier and more SB's when i do it this way instead...

Yeah I used to play that way, now I just dont have that kind of time to focus a good 1-2hrs each offseason.

BTW, forgot to mention....I just relocated the team to manhattan....

Had to change the logo but kept the New York Jets name....

Oh yeah, what the **** is up with the fans getting mad when you move the team to Manhattan? Every game it's always like that. One year I decided to move the team to New Mexico and they weren't as mad. What's up with that?

right now i wouldnt mind if the jets moved the team to new mexico....

I would be a lot less stressed on sundays.:rl:

A lot probably depends on the stadium and the personal seat licenses....

Next gen sucks. I don't like any of the games, or, I don't like them enough to pay the prices for the console and the higher prices for games. I challenge anyone here to do one of the hardest franchises, completely building a team from FA. Release all the players, take the prestige hit and erase the salary cap, and try to do good with a bunch of crappy rookie UDFAs and grandpa players that are going to retire that year, and there are a lot of them. No gamey trades either. Bonus points for signing Taco Wallace, and making him at least an 83 WR (another triumph of mine). It took me 3 yrs, and Rohan Davey won Best QB, Offensive player of the year, and MVP, and I don't even play most of the games, 5 at the most, and then playoff games. I rule. I'm the ultimate armchair GM and HC.

Wow, im 4-0 and am blowing everyone out of the water.

The most running yds my defense has given up is 72 and the most passing yds is 201 ( I played that game, but I got an INT and a fumble recovery).

Meanwhile, on offense, Chad is averaging 220 ypg and 2 TD'sand Leon has about 80 ypg and a TD.

Madden really is much more fun then real life.:penguin:
