Ryno the Jet
Shot in the leg by her boyfriend while her 14 and 11 year old daughters were upstairs in their room. The two girls came sprinting downstairs after the blast, and they begged the boyfriend not to shoot their mother again. Just awful. The shooter fled in his Chevy Suburban immediately after pushing the Buick LaSabre, that was blocking him in the driveway, out into the street. My wife heard the screeching of the tires from the commotion and she darted outside to see the assailant speeding off. She went next door and knocked, and my neighbor replied, "I've been shot!" After calling 911 and giving a full report, my wife was told that the scumbag was apprehended a mere 10 minutes later. The CSI team is still outside and the shooting was over 6 hours ago. I have a 7 month old baby girl and we live in a decent neighborhood outside of the city limits. I shook the guy's hand last night. He had just explained to me how he peacefully handled a situation where a young kid hit his parked truck with an SUV. Still in shock, but I cannot help but think how f'd up this rock we inhabit is becoming! LIFE IS TOO SHORT!
jetophile
That's too bad. What shocks you, though? I find it surprising that you're surprised that people suck.
ECURB
Better than car bombs going off in the streets... thank your troops all we deal with is our own morons and not the rest of the worlds... Scary thought though... its amazing what happens in places you never think it would....

Not shocked that people suck for certain; that's hardly news, but when my wife, who is at home with my 7 month-old daughter, calls explaining this scenario in a frantic stir, while I am trapped at the grocery miles away, I was uneasy. Kidhuman
That sucks arse, but thankfully no one was fatally wounded in this. Very happy he didnt shoot the kids when they asked him to stop. Glad they got him. It is more than likely an isolated incidentin your neighborhood. Things like that can happen anywhere. Glas everyone is alive and all. Ryno the Jet
Just be thankful that none of "Mr. Peaceful's" stray bullets hit your house or loved ones. That was my thought exactly. He must have used a small caliber gun, as my wife did not hear the shot, only the tire squeal. hey dont act like u have never thought of killing someone before:-({|= You can shove your fiddle. Don't pass his actions as appropriate behavior simply because you have had demented thoughts. I am not whining; I was only sharing an interesting story. I guess you were never taught the old adage of "if you don't have anything nice to say..." That sucks arse, but thankfully no one was fatally wounded in this. Very happy he didnt shoot the kids when they asked him to stop. Glad they got him. It is more than likely an isolated incidentin your neighborhood. Things like that can happen anywhere. Glas everyone is alive and all. Those poor girls, they were/are so torn. The youngest (11) is especially sweet, and it cuts me deep that she had to go through this. This will stick in their heads forever; pleading for their mother's life. I agree this is isolated, and I was very relieved to hear the police apprehended him. I was worried he would be stupid enough to return if he was not caught, as he left his other truck parked in front of my neighbor's house. In a way, there is a positive resulting from this incident; we are a much stronger neighborhood now. Most of us were outside our homes discussing the issue for hours, and we were all in agreement that (obviously) this will not be indicative of our area. We spoke with several neighbors we had never met before, and a few of the men on our street were the first ones to go in the victim's house after my wife ran for help. Bob
It's always awful when these things hit close to home. Look at the bright side, though. Your own family was not harmed, your neighbor will (I assume) recover from the leg wound and her kids will get over it in time. Kids do that. We're never surprised that people suck, but that they suck so close to home. Ryno, glad your family is okay and your neighbors at least seem to have survived the ordeal. JetFanByMarriage
I am glad that your wife and child are fine. That is horrible and very unsettling to have it happen next door to you. It definitely shakes your feeling of security. Those poor little kids.
Ryno the Jet
Thanks for the kind words, folks. Interesting twist; we found out this afternoon that she was hit by one bullet, four holes. He shot her from the side, and the bullet entered her outer thigh, exited the inner thigh, entered the other inner thigh, and exited her opposite outer thigh. She amazingly answered her front door when help arrived. She is set to be released from the hospital tomorrow.

Funny thing is, it was visa versa with them. She ran the show. She is bigger. One of the Sheriff's Deputies on the scene was an old friend of mine. He said the inside of the house was a wreck, blood everywhere, and it appeared they had gone round and round prior to the shot! I think he may have shot her the first time cause she was whoopin' his a$$!
