Dolce Owner Celebrates Red Sox Win in Denver Jail

Thursday, November 1, 2007

EATER EXLUSIVE: One of the Dolce Group partners apparently had a little too much, um, fun in Denver last week. We're tipped off that Mike "boogie" Malin spent 15 hours in a jail cell following Game 4 of the World Series "for allegedly assaulting a waitress at a local sports bar." We have no idea what kind of assault, but Dolce Group PR tells us, "Malin is working with his legal team to properly handle the misunderstanding and the charges."

Apparently the former Big Brother contestant (and winner, ) is a huge Red Sox fan found himself 'celebrating' the win. The last time we saw Malin was opening night at Ketchup when cameras followed him around for some TV spot; no (obvious) server groping or abuse was present. The Dolce Group also owns Dolce, Geisha House, Bella and Les Deux. [Eaterwire]

poor boogie :(

How dare you!!!!

:Trk::Trk::Trk:

Glenroe was f**king s**te!. Biddy, Miley, Dinny and the rest of them? If it wasn't for that show, we wouldn't have had to endure 10 years of Mary McEvoy going on about how "If Surf Automatic doesn't clean your whites, Lever Brothers wil give you your money back".

You defend it? I bet you like Fair City too....

CBS Sets 'Jericho,' 'Big Brother' Returns

CBS doesn't seem too concerned about the ongoing writers' strike, announcing a spring line-up that includes both the triumphant return of "Jericho" and a new installment of "Big Brother."

"Jericho," the story of a plucky band of Kansas survivalists trying to kick-start society in the aftermath of a nuclear attack, will capitalize on the lead-in of the first-ever winter edition of "Big Brother."

Hosted, as always, by Julie Chen, "Big Brother" will also premiere on Tuesday, Feb. 12 at 9 p.m. ET, following "NCIS." Additional installments of "Big Brother" will air on Wednesdays and Sundays at 8 p.m., premiering on Feb. 13 and Feb. 17.

The Wednesday "Big Brother" episodes will take the place of "Power of 10," as the summer competition hit begins a string of new episodes on Wednesday, Jan. 2.

In general, CBS won't lack for new programming, even in the scripted department, as Monday, Jan. 28 will see the premiere of "The Captain," featuring Chris Klein and Jeffrey Tambor, and the Emmy-winning "The New Adventures of Old Christine," which will air at 8:30 and 9:30 respectively, as "The Big Bang Theory" and "Rules of Engagement" go on hiatus (unlike the other Monday comedies, they lack the necessary number of repeatable installments).

Tuesday, Feb. 12

8:00-9:00 PM -- "NCIS"

9:00-10:00 PM -- "Big Brother 9" (Premiere)

10:00-11:00 PM -- "Jericho" (Season Premiere)

Wednesday, Feb. 13

8:00-9:00 PM -- "Big Brother 9" (Wednesday Premiere)

9:00-10:00 PM -- "Criminal Minds"

10:00-11:00 PM -- "CSI: NY"

Sunday, Feb. 17

7:00-8:00 PM -- "60 Minutes"br> 8:00-9:00 PM -- "Big Brother 9"(Sunday Premiere)

9:00-10:00 PM -- "Cold Case"

10:00-11:00 PM -- "Shark"

It's the news you've been waiting for Big Brother fans. CBS announced today that Big Brother 9 will premiere on Tuesday, February 12 at 9pm ET/PT. Like past Big Brothers, Big Brother 9 will air three times a week, but unlike previous summer installments, this latest Big Brother will air Tuesdays (at 8pm), Wednesdays (at 9pm) and on Sundays (at 9pm). The Wednesday premiere will be February 13, and the Sunday premiere February 17. CBS also announced the premiere date for season 16 of Survivor. The long running reality series will debut Thursday, February 7 at its usual 8pm ET/PT time slot. No word on the location for Survivor 16.

This Big Brother news is big on a number of fronts and, not to take away from Big Brother fans, it's most significant as a sign that the writers' strike is nowhere near ending. At the very least, it shows CBS's lack of confidence in an imminent resolution. Three hours is a significant portion of prime time real estate, especially for a network that performs as well in the ratings as CBS does. As for Big Brother fans, the prospect of two seasons virtually back to back has to be salivating. Big Brother is a great little franchise to have during a strike, and I'm sure CBS is just fine with their situation relative to the other networks.

alk what do you think about big brother being the lead in for jericho

really?
