TomShane
All of you Yankee honks who like to say that you guys don't buy rings, I want you to read this again, because if the Royals tried this, they'd have to fold the franchise: The Yankees are responsible for Quantrill's $3 million salary this year and a $400,000 buyout of a $3.6 million 2006 option they declined in December. They also are responsible for Stanton's $4 million salary, although they did receive $975,000 from the New York Mets as part of the December trade that sent Felix Heredia from the Bronx to Queens. shawn306
He just flushed $7 million dollars into the toilet. How great a businessman can he be? I'd say he was pretty good when he buys a franchise for 5 million dollars and thirty years later it's net worth is about 1 billion dollars. Bugg
"Honestly, there is not a single player that is available via trade that is worthy of trading Jeter for. Ditto Arod and Ditto Sheff!!" That may be true of A-Rod. But as to Jeter and Sheff, the Yanks would deal either for Helton, Guerrero, Pulhojs or Santana in a heartbeat. But as TS noted, nobody is taking on those NY salaries. shawn306
And nobody should unless they felt they could make a run with Sheffield who has 1 year left on his contract after this season. That;s okay though keep burying the Yankees. Nothing to worry about here. There toast right ? Nothing there right ? Six games back and it isn't even the all star break. That's okay though. The Yanks are done. Finished Toast Keep

TomShane
Aren't the Mess flushing $$$$$ down the toilet with the likes of Glavine, Piazza, Ishii, Matsui Each team has their fair share of Sh#t!! My point was that George can flush $7 mil like it was nothing. KC would not only have to keep Stanton and Quantrill, but they'd have to pitch them as well because their contracts are so prohibitive that there really would be no other option.
