124
He might be a little inconsistent but he has the makings, if the Yankees keep him, to be an Ace a couple years from now. But of course George won't be patient and will trade him away for Mark Kotsay.
Maxman
Wang will never be the ACE of the Yankees staff. But if he keeps learning\improving he has a shot at being a nice middle of the rotation guy.
AFJF
I think it's a bit early to say he'll be the ace but I wouldn't say it's out of the question. Since his first start in the majors the guy has shown great poise which is rare for a guy who's new to the bigs. A look at what Wang has done aside from the obvious 5-3 3.87 --Has gone at least 6 innings in 10 of 12 starts, 7 innings 5 times. --Walked 3 or more batters only 3 times --His worst numbers come on the first pitch. Opposing hitters are battting .347 with an 0-0 count, by far the best they do against him. If he can learn not to get so much of the plate on the first pitch he'll be even more effective. Bugg
Wang led the AL in wins and finished 2nd to Satana in the Cy Young balloting. Call him what ever you want, but he's the best starter the Yankees have.

TaborJet
Wang IS the current ace on the Yankees pitching staff. Who is currently ranked higher than he is? Mussina? Pettite? Johnson? Pavano?
madmike1
That is like being the smartest kid on the shortbus. So now boston fans are bashing Wang. I'd love to see the factual basis for this...

I made this thread in 2005 proclaiming he would be and got a few posts saying no way, the reason for me bumping this up.

Well, he will continue to be the ace until Hughes makes his way to the bigs.
