Why is it assumed that David Wright is going to be a star?

David Wright decided to make the highlights with his bat tonight. He went 4-for-5 with a three-run homer and six RBI in a 9-1 win over the Padres.

He also had his 12th stolen base to go along with his 17th homer and 30th double. The four hits and six RBI matched his previous career highs.

22 years old and probably the best young hitter to come along in NY since Jeter though Derek took a few years before putting up these type numbers.

Wright has shown all the tools already, he hits for power , average and has speed and he hits with RISP.

If Willie hadn't waited so long to move him up in the order we may be looking at a 30 -120 season out of Wright.

Its kinda funny that this thread disappeared right around the time that Robinson Cano hit the wall as David Wright has remained ultra-consistent throughout the season.

Not surprising...just kinda funny. Ya see, this is why the rest of us cant take you Yankee fans seriously anymore.

Im so glad that the myth of Yankee fans being the "most knowledgable in baseball" is gone forever.

Wright and Reyes have the left side locked up for many years- both still learning and getting better.

Petit just got called up to Norfolk Triple A -is still our best prospect closest to the majors in helping in the rotation

Whatever you do, Mets fans, dont say "I am perfectly happy with David Wright's production at 3rd base for $300 Thou compared to A-rod's production at 3rd base for $25 mil."

Illiterate Yankee fans will run with it and say "WHAT??? you think Wright is better than A-rod?"

Then again, it is funny to watch them get so irate over such things...
