SouthernJet
OK, was waiting for this as it has been the most hyped movie in last 6 months or so.. It was very very good, just notborderline classic IMHO as some have implied. First off, Daniel Day-Lewis was great and deserved his Golden Globe winner as Best Actor.. we carried movie and then some... It is a very moody piece that follows a man who strikes oil in 1900 Texas and the ensuing story of his career in oil and its effects on he and his family. I thought the 1st 1/2 of movie was engrossing and on target to greatness..It somewhat tailed off in 2nd half (2 hr. 40 min. movie).. Its a movie steep in morality plays that bring into question the eternal quest one has for power and money. A very good movie no doubt, just not a classic.. 3 1/2 stars
