BP
By Matt Bitonti == 01. Miami Dolphins - QB Brian Brohm, Louisville An impressive franchise QB showing in Indy could shake up the top of the board. == 02. St. Louis Rams - DE Chris Long, Virginia Long would provide leadership to a unit that needs a weak side pass rush and accountability. == 03.*Atlanta Falcons - QB Matt Ryan, Boston College Falcons need a new signal caller and winning attitude; Ryan helps the offense and franchise. == 04.*Oakland Raiders - DT Glenn Dorsey, Louisiana State The Raiders do a nice job finding defensive tackles and can't pass up on Dorsey. == 05.* Kansas City Chiefs - DT Sedrick Ellis, Southern California The Chiefs need infrastructure upgrade on both sides of the ball, Ellis stock is rising. == 06. New York Jets - RB Darren McFadden, Arkansas The Jets offense needs a spark, if DMC doesn't run at Indy, his stock could fall out of top-5. == 07. New England Patriots - OT Jake Long, Michigan The Patriots need to protect Brady. Long can upgrade RT and put Matt Light on notice. == 08. Baltimore Ravens - CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, Tennessee State Cromartie was the defensive MVP of the Senior Bowl . With workouts coming, this sprint champ could fly up the board. == 09. Cincinnati Bengals - DE Phillip Merling, Clemson Justin Smith likely will leave in free agency and the Bengals would love to tab an edge rusher to replace him. == 10. New Orleans Saints - DE Derrick Harvey, Florida Harvey is a coachable big-game SEC player and the Saints have to upgrade Charles Grant. == 11. Buffalo Bills - CB Aqib Talib, Kansas Talib has great film and will impress teams in workouts. The Bills never really replaced Clements. == 12. Denver Broncos - LB Dan Connor, Penn State Arguably the best linebacker ever from linebacker U, Connor can step in the middle for Al Wilson. == 13. Carolina Panthers - DE Vernon Gholston, Ohio State The Panthers gave their young defensive ends an audition at the end of the year and didn't like what they saw. == 14. Chicago Bears - OT Chris Williams, Vanderbilt The Bears need an upgrade an left tackle, Williams has the feet, balance and smarts required for the job. == 15. Detroit Lions - LB Keith Rivers, Southern California The Lions have alot of turnover at the linebacker position and need players who can step in right away. == 16. Arizona Cardinals - RB Rashard Mendenhall, Illinois The Cardinals need to replace Edge and Mendenhall could be a riser at the combine. == 17. Minnesota Vikings - DE Calais Campbell, Miami The Vikings don't have enough at edge rusher, Campbell is an elite player who could go higher. == 18. Houston Texans - DB Kenny Phillips, Miami Phillips is a playmaker and the Texans haven't had an elite player back there for a while. == 19. Philadelphia Eagles - OT Jeff Otah, Pittsburgh Reid loves to build infrastructure in the draft and the offensive line still needs attention. == 20. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - WR Malcolm Kelly, Oklahoma Hilliard and Galloway are ancient, Gruden needs a new target for his offense. == 21. Washington Redskins - DT Kentwan Ballmer, North Carolina The Redskins need to upgrade their defensive line, Ballmer is a hustle player who had a great senior year. == 22. Dallas Cowboys (VIA Cle) - CB Mike Jenkins, South Florida Jenkins is a rare athlete who can help in the return game and upgrade the Cowboys' cornerback position. == 23. Pittsburgh Steelers - OT Sam Baker, Southern California The Steelers have problems along the offensive line, Baker is a good player to start the reconstruction. == 24. Tennessee Titans - WR Limas Sweed, Texas Vince Young needs more targets and he loves to feed other Longhorns (see Bo Scaife). == 25. Seattle Seahawks - RB Jonathan Stewart, Oregon The Seahawks need to reload at running back and Stewart is in their backyard. == 26. Jacksonville Jaguars - DE Quentin Groves, Auburn The Jags have a dire need at DE, Groves could have excellent workouts to boost his draft stock. == 27. San Diego Chargers - CB Leodis McKelvin, Troy McKelvin had a strong Senior Bowl week and pending workouts could go higher in the first round. == 28. Dallas Cowboys - OT Gosder Cherlius, Boston College If the Cowboys franchise Adams they might not extend. Cherlius is a man mountain with a mean streak. == 29. San Francisco 49ers (VIA Ind) - WR Desean Jackson, California If Jackson does not run that mythical 4.2, he could drop; Martz needs a player to stretch the field in his offense. == 30. Green Bay Packers - CB Antoine Cason, Arizona The Packers need cornerback depth and to plan for the future. Cason had a strong senior year. == 31. New England Patriots - Pick Forfeited Violation of league rules. == 32. New York Giants - DB DaJuan Morgan, North Carolina State Morgan is a hard-working instinctual safety who can also cover. link McFadden, Bit? flgreen
link McFadden, Bit? Don't want McFadden at all. I really don't want a RT at 6 but would have to take Long if it fell that way. What they really need to do is trade out of #6. Will be hard to trade it for other draft picks, but maybe trade for a tagged pas rusher that a team would really like to move. Irish Jet
I wouldn't be annoyed TBH because McFadden does have great potential, but considering how much we need a pass rusher I'd take Gholston over DMC.

Irish Jet
I don't get the love for Jake Long. I really don't rate him that highly, not only that but if we take him we're more than likely going to have to move him to RT. You don't take a RT in the top 6. bitonti
DMC might not go top 5, if by some miracle he doesn't the Jets offense isn't good enough to pass on this player. they have Brad Smith package, demote Brad to special teams full time and let DMC do his thing. It's a no brainer pick. Jake long is a nice player but the offense still stinks with or without him - they have no gamebreakers. oh and JonE you don't really mean that about Brick. the guy is a stud in training. he shuts down some of the best pass rushers in the league on a week to week basis. He has weaknesses but they are all correctable over time. There aren't alot of teams with better left tackles than Brick... and Brick isn't the reason why they are losing all these football games. mbn007
If this is how it came up, I would trade down towards the middle of the round, mid teens, and try for Campbell from Miami, letting him replace Ellis, or Otah from Pittsburgh, and use him at R/T. Why does our line still suck...
LionelRichie
Why does our line still suck... because the jets let kareem mckenzie and randy thomas walk away from the team rather than resigning them to long-term deals. replace clarke and clement w/ mckenzie and thomas and this is a top notch unit. KSJets
I'm confused...why can't we get playmakers AND fix the OL in the same offseason? If we're only going to get one player, then McFadden is a stupid selection. But we're not getting just one player. That being said, I still think they go defense in the first round. Irish Jet
Wow, you flip flop more than a pancake! No, I just don't stick to agendas like a lot of others do. I actually judge from what I see and allow my opinions to change. Now that Suggs is off the market and there aren't any other great options in FA, we need to to find a pass rusher from somewhere. Simple as that. I'm not too high on Gholston at all (think he's too inconsistent) but we need a pass rushing threat more than anything in the world and Gholston should be able to provide that. Simple as that.
