BroadwayJoe12
Not too big of a deal. We could still offer him a contract, but the steelers have the right to match it. It shows they don't want to lose him, but don't feel he's worth the money of the franchise tag, which he isn't. http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/tribunereview/news/breaking/s_553414.html Edit: Just a little FYI for people who aren't familiar with the transition tag, the team is allowed to match any offer, but if they don't they won't receive any compensation. aec4
Transition is a USELESS tag. Simply offer him a contract, and in it put: "The Entire contract is guaranteed if he plays 4 or more games in PA in any given regular season." Now if they match it, his salary is 100% guaranteed. Stick a $12M last yr base in it, and it's impossible to match.
Irish Jet
I don't really want Starks on this team. He was very poor when i saw him last season.

Good run blocker, pretty average in passpro, much better than Clements..which says nothing. I just think he's gonna get a large contract based simply on his potential (size), but who knows. serphnx
Dude didn't even start on a bad Steelers O-line. I dunno who we'd raid from, I'd rather try our luck in the draft. That is...if Mangini can actually develop young talent. Leon's been rotting on the bench, and nobody has any faith in Clemens. We got Harris and Revis but they were naturally talented, they did not improve really. I want to see improvements and young guys getting more chances. Draft O-line with at least 2 picks from rounds 2-5. And then...we hope.

aec4
I thought those types of Poison Pills were made illegal after the Seattle/Minnesota Hutchinson/Burleson fiasco a few years back? Nope. That pill stayed in... They were supposed to be illegal after Curtis came to the Jets, but they found a way around them..
